Happy September!

Goodness, what a summer. The summer camp groups have come and gone, The Fringe is behind us, and the New York Musical Theatre Festivalis cresting the horizon. Speaking of, be sure to catch Show Choir! The Musical at the festival this year. RG has been a sponsor of the show since its infancy, and it is truly one of the "must-sees" of the bunch.

So welcome to the new season! We're playing host to some great shows this fall: revivals, national tours, and a few exciting original projects with some surprising artists. Check out our lobby re-modeling at 72nd street studios, and look for some new offerings at the Cafe this fall as we team up with Featherstone Bakery to bring you the best bread and goodies our fair city has to offer.

Sincerely,

Me & Jack Camping

The Women's Center Karate Club Lives at RG!
wckcRipley-Grier is not just for performing arts. For years we've been a home for photographers, seminars, and martial arts. And being the host for The Women's Center Karate Club for many years has been a particular privilege.

The Women's Center Karate Club, founded in 1976 by Susan Ribner and now headed by Denise Williams, 3rd degree black belt,  is an all female school dedicated to serious karate training in a supportive environment. They are devoted to the empowerment of women and girls of all ages and physical abilities. The karate style practiced at the school is a Japanese style called Shotokan. This rigorous form of karate is quite popular and is practiced the world over.

The Women's Center Karate Club is affiliated with the Japan Karate Association. The JKA is a world-wide organization headquartered in Tokyo. The local JKA is located in New York City.

The Women's Center Karate Club also participates in activities of The National Women's Martial Arts Federation. The federation sponsors conferences, a yearly special training and seminars throughout the year.
