A preview of our newest platform
upgrades and additions
is on its
way! The chief upgrades and
additions in this release are aimed to enable better management of skilled
caregivers and visits. Highlights
include:
 Advanced skilled
caregiver compliance controls Telephony
version specific to skilled caregiver visits New and
robust 485 doctor's order (and 487 interim order) module Enhancements
to electronic billing and a new insurance clearinghouse interface Redesigned
Authorizations module including 'hours-per-period' entry Directions and
best routing transportation feature within Smart Maps
We have received a good number of requests for skilled caregiver/visit features, and here is our chance to show you we have been listening!

Industry Buzz
So there is drama in Home Care... 
When the dust has settled from the recent $17 million purchase of the bankrupt Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Center Certified Home Health Agency, the CHHA will become a part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System's Home Care Network.
"The ability to provide post acute services such as home care, in counties where we have hospitals is strategically important as we continue to bundle and integrate chronic disease across the continuum of care," said Michael Dowling, president/CEO of North Shore-LIJ Health System.
North Shore LIJ's purchase made headlines nationwide; there were a number of likely candidates and a good deal of jockeying for position. Industry consolidation remains alive and well.

Features Focus: In-services Capture
When an in-service is scheduled for a group of caregivers, you can create an in-service class to record all the attendees. You can then print an attendee "Sign-in Sheet." Upon its completion, all of the relevant information from the class is assigned to those caregivers that attended, and an in-service certificate can be printed from the system.

HHA eXchange at HCA's Senior and Financial Managers Retreat  This conference, held last month in Saratoga Springs, addressed current financial issues affecting the home care industry with (not surprisingly) a heavy influence on current and anticipated regulatory reform. It wasn't all doom and gloom, with lots of good advice for how to survive current industry challenges and come out stronger with refreshed planning and practices.
We were pleased to be able to showcase our unique eXchange Suite platform that streamlines workflow between CHHAs/LTHHCPs and Licensed Agencies, while at the same time hear from experts on the state of the industry and advice on tactical approaches.
