Greetings Neighbor!

April is here and that means two things for OLHNA:  time for dues, and time to re-elect a new Board of Directors.  For the past two years, I've had the pleasure of serving with a group of great volunteers who give up their free time to help make our neighborhood a little bit better.  It has been a great experience for me, and I look forward to staying in touch with the friends I've made.  The new Board of Directors will be elected on April 27th at 7pm during our Spring General Meeting at St. John's School on Harter Road.  Whether you are interested in volunteering, or just want to support your neighborhood, we hope to see you there (food and drinks provided!).

Thank you for your support,

Elle Logo

Elle Realty has committed to supporting the Hexter Elementary White Rock Home Tour again this year; albeit in a smaller way than serving as presenting sponsor, which we did in 2007.  In any case, we couldn't be happier about having our office located in the same neighborhood as the blue-ribbon award winner and exemplary elementary school.  Hexter has consistently remained "on top" among the Dallas schools' roster, and when it comes to re-sale, that makes a difference for the sellers in the neighborhood.  Even if you don't have children, even if you will never have children-- school(s) do play a role in the overall desirability of a neighborhood.

Plans are hatching to once again feature coops for city chickens on this FREE, self-guided tour that will take place around the beautiful East Dallas area. The coops will highlight different approaches to keeping and enjoying these pampered pets, "eggsellent" layers, and a great addition to a green lifestyle. Visitors will have the opportunity to see many different breeds of chickens, from small to large, and learn about their unique personalities and characteristics. Several other sustainable practices will be on view as well, such as beekeeping, composting, rainwater harvesting and more!
