Around the World

Around the World - Day 1
Students climbed the inflatable Alps last Friday, as part of our
annual international celebration during with Day 1 of our Around the World activities. Read more about the day's activities on our Prep Blog!
HawaiiMusic Groups in Hawaii
Our thoughts go out to those affected by the earthquake and resulting tsunami in Japan. Many of you have called to inquire about our music groups, currently in Hawaii, and how this may have affected them. We are thrilled to report that they are safe and sound, and haven't experienced any problems related to this... other than a few hours of lost sleep when hotel alarms sounded on the hour immediately following the earthquake in Japan.

Check out photos and an update from the group on our blog! They'll arrive home today, so stay tuned for more updates!

Around the WorldATW - 2 & Welcome 7th Graders!
We are excited to welcome the 7th graders from Fairmont's Anaheim, Hills, Edgewood and Mable campuses on Friday, March 18th for our Around the World international festivities!

Around the World Day 2 celebrates the regions of Asia, India & the Middle East, and Africa.

Performances include UC Irvine's Chinese Martial Arts Association, and a Korean B-Boy Team. Activities during lunch include a visit from a belly dancer/snake charmer, an Indian DJ, inflatable sumo wrestling, and a visit from a very special guest... I'm not LION (ehem), you won't want to miss this! Bring your camera!

Prep & FIA students need to be sure and pre-order food for the day, as limited extra food is ordered. Order forms are available in the Green Room or on the Prep blog. We will have a sushi truck serving California rolls and spicy tuna rolls, Boba milk tea, and pastries from 85 degrees.

Senior Play

There is a story of friendship out there, and the seniors have found it. Come and watch the Senior Play, "Good Luck Andy," to laugh and cry. This student written, directed and produced play will showcase a number of Prep students, and is not to be missed!

"Good Luck Andy" runs this Friday and Saturday, March 18 & 19. Tickets are on sale during lunch near the flagpole for $3 in advance, and they'll be $5 at the door. Showtime is 7 p.m. on Friday, and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Don't miss it!

Fairmont Prep ASBMake a difference
Elections will be held at the Prep the last week of March for the 2011-12 ASB Executive Council and Class Officer positions. All students are encouraged to help make a difference at the Prep by taking part in leadership positions within student government. Applications are now available in the Green Room for elected and appointed positions. Contact Mrs. Faust for more information.

Students running for elected positions must attend one of two information meetings, and the last chance to attend this meeting is this Wednesday, March 16th. The meeting begins promptly at 11:40 a.m. in the Green Room, and you must be on time.
