Sadie Hawkins theme announced
The Class of 2013 ASB officers announced their upcoming Sadie Hawkins Dance theme during last Friday's spirit rally. The theme, "Let it GLOW" was selected by the Sophomore Class, hosts of this year's dance. The dance will be Friday, March 25th from 8-11 p.m. on campus at the Prep.
The tradition of the Sadie Hawkins dance dates back to 1937 and the Lil' Abner comic strip character. This tradition has been adopted by countless schools in the United States, and is a time that girls typically ask the boys to the dance. At the Prep, Sadie Hawkins is a casual dress dance, and pairs are asked to come dressed alike according to the dance theme.
"Let it Glow" will be a fun dance featuring neon and glow-in-the-dark lighting and decorations, with desserts and drinks. Stay tuned for more details about the dance, and for tickets to go on sale.
