"This is an excellent workshop to reconnect with my goals, ideals, and emotions in a way that I can use to help others do the same."
-Carolyn Arnold

"Our daily lives don't typically encourage us to share our vulnerabilities with others. In this workshop I realized that sharing our deep-sometimes dark-truths gives us tremendous strength to deal with our greatest challenges."

A Word from the Director

Dear friends,

Every day we receive gifts from the people who come to the Gandhi Institute. We receive inspiration, service and support for strengthening the new civilization that Gandhi helped birth and that has been carried forward by countless others.

Today's gift is a letter from a young friend who is incarcerated in upstate New York.  He writes reflecting that my energy seemed a bit low in my last letter, and gave me the following counsel: "You may lose your strength, you may lose your motivation, your confidence and your passion.  But never, and I truly mean never, give up hope."

Hope is a word that gets mentioned a lot around here.Look for it in this newsletter-in the photos, reflections, and upcoming events. It was the parting word too of Kevin Varkey, our summer intern who returned to Boston last week. When asked about his time here, he said that most of all it offered him hope for humanity. Read more of Kevin's reflection about being here in his blog (Kevin's blog).

Please join us if you are able for one of the Dominic Barter events in August, one of the most hopeful voices in social change today.

With love from all of us here,

Kit Miller
