Nautical Cross

                            Nautical Cross

One of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent damage to your boat at the dock is and has always been a fender. Even though they are simple they are not always easy to position. Rarely does your dock line up perfectly with easy tie on points to your boat  for optimal fender positioning. Often you either have to put the fender in the wrong place, tie it around tower legs or bow rails, or just plain can't find a place to secure it to the vessel. This is where the Nautical Cross comes in. Designed to fit in any boat's gunnel rod holder, this high strength aluminum design creates a perfect tie on point for a fender anywhere you have a rod holder. The Nautical Cross is as simple a solution as the fender it holds, and takes away a common inconvenience of boating.

Thanks to our new Maverick owner John O'Hara for sending in some great pictures taken during the first few weeks of fishing his new HPX . John has been busy stalking the flats with his new 17 HPX V and Yamaha 70 Four Stroke, resulting in some nice Permit and Bonefish catches. We encourage everyone to share your experiences on the water and either post or send in your photos or stories.

Service Tip: Lower Units

There are a lot of important reasons why you should have your lower unit serviced on all your outboard engines.

1. The most basic reason is that if you don't occasionally remove it and lubricate all the parts, the gearcase may not come off when you actually have a problem. Similarly you should lubricate the prop shaft for continued ease of operation and removal of your propeller.

2.Another reason is to check for fishing line wrapped around your prop shaft. Over time the line may work its way through the seals at the base of the prop shaft and allow water to enter the gear case.

3.Next the lower unit oil which keep all moving parts lubricated needs to be changed occasionally, or it will loose its effectiveness.

4.The lower unit also needs to be removed to access, inspect, and replace the water pump.

Thanks to you our customers for your continued support! You have made the start of our 2011 successful. We hope you have all had plenty of opportunities to make great memories on the water these first few months, and we will do our part to keep them coming for years to come.

Sincerely,

Your friends at
