CONFERENCE SUPPORTS SENATE BILL 16
DMMC anticipates that Senate Bill 16, which would enable municipalities to better manage vacant properties, will be given a vote on the House floor when session resumes on April 17. It is our understanding that Representatives may have received misinformation about our position on SB 16. An Action Call was sent to members on March 29 and we are asking again, please call or email your Representatives to clarify that we support SB 16. Our current roll call shows that we do not yet have the number of votes needed to approve SB 16. Additional information is available on the DMMC website. |
CONFERENCE PLANS MONTHLY VISITS TO SPRINGFIELD
The second Springfield Drive Down of 2012 was held Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27. Thank you to Mayors Craig and Iden and Managers Hulseberg and Searl for participating in a dinner and breakfast with a number of legislators and speaking with several more at the Capitol, where they advocated on behalf of our municipalities.
The next activity in Springfield will be IML Lobby Day on Wednesday, April 25. Following the IML briefing in the morning, legislative efforts will be coordinated with other COGs and members will have an opportunity to attend a joint luncheon. If you are interested in attending one of the future visits to Springfield, contact Executive Director Mark Baloga. |
