They attended seminars with speakers including Arianna Huffington, Ray LaHood and Nancy Pelosi, among others, and had the opportunity to network with other municipal officials from around the country. Baloga reported that the Conference was a great source of information and a wonderful opportunity.

FIRE SERVICE PARTNERSHIP PRESENTATION

On December 22, DMMC hosted a presentation on the West Suburban Fire/Rescue Alliance. Part of a two-year examination of options to coordinate the delivery of fire and emergency services, this presentation addressed the functional cooperative efforts of four fire service jurisdictions (Carol Stream, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield). Through this effort, emergency response will be made throughout the multijurisdictional area by the closest available unit from any of the four agencies. The effort is scheduled to "go live" on February 6. DMMC looks forward to sharing more information with members about this successful collaboration.

DMMC THANKS LOCAL TRANSIT PARTNERS

Four local partners have agreed to make a final, modest financial contribution to operate Pace Route 714 through April 2012. We thank the Cities of Naperville and Wheaton, DuPage County and the College of DuPage for supporting this important route (also known as the COD connector). In May 2012, Pace will acecept full budgetary responsibility for the route.
