RESTRUCTURING OF PACE ROUTES
The Pace Board approved changes to Route 301 Roosevelt Road and Route 747 DuPage Connection, as well as implemented a Call-n-Ride in the Wheaton/Winfield area. Under these changes, Routes 301 and 747 will be combined into one, to be known as Route 301 Roosevelt Road. Combining the resources for the two routes will improve service frequency and hours of service for most riders on the Roosevelt Road corridor. Service changes will be implemented December 12. The new route will travel between the CTA Blue Line Forest Park Transit Center and the Wheaton Metra Station, with select rush hour trips serving the DuPage County Government Center. A new transit option, the Wheaton/Winfield Call-n-Ride, will provide an expansion of local service in the area well beyond what is currently offered by Route 747. The new route changes will affect only weekday service. Weekend service for Route 301, operating Saturdays between the CTA Blue Line Forest Park Transit Center and Oakbrook Center, and Sundays to Hillside, will be unchanged. |
