BON VOYAGE, MARY ANN
If you've attended a DMMC event in the last six years, chances are you've had the pleasure of meeting DMMC's Executive Assistant/Events Planner Mary Ann Jurevich. It is with heavy hearts that we announce Mary Ann will be retiring at the end of the month. We will miss Mary Ann's bright smile, ability to throw an enjoyable event, and of course, her aptness to break into a showtune at the drop of a hat. Best wishes, Mary Ann! |

MUNCIPALITIES PREPARE FOR CENSUS DAY With the official 2010 Census Day fast approaching on April 1, municipalities across DuPage stepped up their publicity campaign to make sure that residents participate by completing their Census forms and mailing them in. Some of Westmont's initiatives includes a community-wide contest to create a Census blues song that will be recorded and sent to local media, a banner and yard sign campaign consisting of approximately 100 "Census 2010 - Get Counted" signs posted throughout the community, and a Village-sponsored Census 2010 Open House held a few days before Census Day on April 1.
If municipalities are still looking to promote Census 2010 in their communities, Larry McIntyre, Westmont Census Committee Chair, recommends three key messages:
Convenience: By filling out the Census form and mailing it in on time, residents will avoid having a Census taker coming to their door.
It's easy: The new Census form only has 10 questions and none of them pertain to financial information. It is estimated that the form can quickly be filled out within 10 minutes.
Money: Every person counted as a resident of your community brings tax revenue into the community. |
