There are NO new PQRS measures for 2012 due to the implementation of ICD-10. On October 1, 2013, the ICD-9 code sets used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures will be replaced by ICD-10 code sets. With the transition to ICD-10, the administrative burden for defining new PQRS measures outweighs the need for updated measures.
These are the current measures directly relevant to Radiation Oncology that will remain active in 2012:
If you are not currently enrolled in PQRS, the deadline for enrollment is January 1, 2012. Providers are encouraged to enroll to take advantage of the incentive payments of 0.5 % for each year from 2012 to 2014. Other dates to note include:
* By December 31, 2011: 2012 Physician Quality Reporting Specification Final Posting - detailed specifications/specific instructions for reporting measures groups on the PQRS
* By October 1, 2012: 2013 PQRS Measure Specification updates with ICD-10 codes
