Dear ACRO Member,
The American Journal of Clinical Oncology (AJCO) has been
the official ACRO journal for the past three years. This was
added as a membership benefit in 2006 without an associated
increase in dues.
In reviewing the College's relationship with the publisher
of the journal, and based on comments made by a number of
members, we have decided to continue this membership benefit
as an online service, with the option for you to receive the
print version for an additional annual fee of $50. This was
done to assure that all members would continue to access the
journal online (which is becoming the norm and preferred way
these days) while still providing a print option for those who
prefer it. This also allowed us to avoid increasing dues given
the current economic climate, even though the College is
investing more financial resources to assure a sound economic
basis for radiation oncology practice through the important
work of our Economics and Governmental Affairs Committees and
staff.
Effective with the June issue of AJCO, you will be able to
access the journal online by using your ACRO membership number
preceded by ACRO. Your member number is printed on the label
of the last print version you received . If you have not accessed the
journal online before, you will need to register with the
system here.
If you wish to continue to receive a print version, or If you have any questions, please contact Norman Wallis,
PhD, Executive Director, at 301-718-6539 or nwallis@acro.org.
Thank you, Michael Kuettel, MD, PhD President
