Stewardship Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, you bless each of us daily. Grant us the knowledge and awareness to accept this Truth. You provide us all good things. Help us grow in gratitude for these gifts and live by your words. It is more blessed to give than to receive. Amen. Acts 20:35

Screening for Osteoporosis
Life Line will be at St. David's Episcopal Church on November 11, 2010.
Are you or have you ever been a smoker? Are you a male over 55? Life Line Screening uses hospital quality ultrasound technology to detect an enlargement or weak area in the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body (an aneurysm). Warning signs of AAA often go unidentified and if ruptured, abdominal aortic aneurysms are 80-95% fatal. To register for the Stroke, Vascular Disease and Heart Rhythm Pack for $139.00, call 1-800-324-1851. All four ultrasound screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete.
There is still room.

Volleyball
FIFTH WEEK REPORT
Get more information and schedule.
There were a LOT of very close games today, including a couple that went beyond 25 points in order to win by two points. In the first match, Reconciliation & Friends (25-23 & 25-22) beat CCPIM & Friends (25-16) two games to one. In the second match the BRCC Irregulars (everybody BUT BRCC) (25-22 & 27-25) beat St. David's (25-22) two games to one. The third match was St. Luke's vs. St. George (which was about half St. Luke's players). The St. George Irregulars (25-22, 25-23 & 26-24) won 3 games to none.
SIXTH WEEK'S SCHEDULE
2:00 p.m. - BRCC vs. St. Luke's 3:00 p.m. - Reconciliation vs. St. David's 4:00 p.m. - CCPIM vs. St. George
We're only halfway through the season so there's plenty of volleyball left. We had a couple of people this week who have not been there before. St. Luke's has had a great turnout so far, but many of their players will be out of town or at Choir Evensong this week so there will be lots of room for you to play. Parish Reps, please be sure you're reminding your players about the upcoming games. Forward this e-mail if you want. Please come out and join us this week!
If you like to play a lot, come anytime! At least one of the teams is usually short a couple of players. If you need to go outside your parish to recruit a few players, this is all in fun and may result in a little sports evangelism. If you invite someone to play volleyball now, maybe you can invite them to church later. |
