Join us for a special screening of the new feature length dramatic film "Meek's Cutoff" in the M.J. Murdock Theater.

 

This critically acclaimed movie bring to the big screen the desperate trials of an 1845 Oregon Trail wagon train on their way to The Dalles.

 

Movie starts at 7PM and cost $7 per person (space is limited). Come early and enjoy a camp-fire style dinner of grilled burgers, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, watermelon and lemonade for $10.

Come learn about the extraordinary green building accomplishments of Lone Pine Village
     & future completion of The Riverfront Trail.

Lone Pine Village invites the community to celebrate its recent Gold-LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the Water's Edge facility, one of only two buildings in The Dalles and entire Columbia River Gorge to achieve such status. 

 

Along with guided tours, attendees will learn about the green building measures of the project via a presentation by Timothy Buckley, Principle and Founder of Greenstone Architecture and Lone Pone Village's LEED project manager

 

Plus, Dan Durow, The Dalles Community Development Director, will give a presentation on plans moving forward to complete The Dalles Riverfront Trail.  

 

The trail, which runs through the Lone Pine Village development, will benefit from a recent grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Fort Dalles Days is kicking off this coming Friday, July 8th and Klindt's has events.

Author of The Rancher series, Dawn Nelson, will be at Klindt's from Noon-2PM. Nelson is the Winner of the Academy of Western Artists 2010 Buck Ramsey Award and Finalist of the Western Music Association 2010 Outstanding Story Telling Collection.

Nelson's western titles are just what everyone's bookshelf needs for the summer!

This coincides with the arrival in The Dalles of the David Thompson Voyageur Canoe Brigade, an international group of historic re-enactors arriving by canoe, celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Thompson's 1811 historic journey in mapping the Columbia River from its source to its mouth.

There will be an overnight stay and activities at the Discovery Center and Museum
