OEN's Seed Oregon 2010 - Round 1 Wednesday, Oct. 13, 5:15 - 7:15PM
OEN's Seed Oregon is a unique opportunity to not only compete for funding opportunities, but to learn the rules to effective fundraising.
This entertaining and educational competition is the program for OEN PubTalks during October and November of 2010 and then again in the months of January and February of 2011.
Come see this competition is for Oregon and Southwest Washington seed-stage companies seeking capital within $100,000 to $2,000,000.
One winner from each preliminary round will move on to the championship round, where the winner will earn a coveted presenting opportunity at OEN's Angel Oregon 2011, the premier angel investing event in the Northwest.
Online registration for this event closes Wednesday, October 13th. Please register at the door after that time.

The Magic Grows: Campaign Maryhill Museum of Art's first expansion in its 70-year history
Maryhill Museum of Art has announced plans for the first expansion in the museum's history.
The 25,000square foot Mary and Bruce Stevenson Wing, named for generous museum patrons and designed by GBD Architects of Portland, will provide needed space and allow Maryhill to meet a number of strategic objectives.
The new wing will accommodate educational programs for adults and children, enhance stewardship of the museum's collections, and provide an improved visitor experience.
Key elements of expansion include: Dedicated Education Center, Centralized Collection Suite & Outdoor Interpretive Spaces.

OPB's Steven Bass to open Oregon Telecommunications Conference Thursday & Friday, October 21 & 22
"Oregon Telecom: The New Age of Broadband," is the theme of the 15th annual Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, October 21st and 22nd, at the Hood River Inn and Conference Center.
The Keynote Speaker will be Steven Bass, President and CEO of Oregon Public Broadcasting who also serves as member of the board of directors of National Public Radio.
This conference will explore the importance and value of broadband telecommunications for business, government, education, healthcare, communities and individuals, and the renewed priority interest in broadband funding, technologies and applications.

Featured speaker: author Mary Bywater Cross will present a slide show on "Oregon Heritage Quilts" which include two historical quilting projects from The Dalles area.
She's written "Treasures in the Trunk", "Quilts of the Oregon Trail", "Women in Pacific Northwest History", and "Quilts and Women of the Mormon Migrations: Treasures of Transition".
The luncheon, prepared by St. Paul's Episcopal Church, will include a chicken soufflé and an apple pie.
