MCEDD Receives 2010
NADO Innovations Award

In Industry Cluster Support

MCEDD receives 2010 Innovation Award in Industry Cluster Support for the progress made by the Columbia River Gorge Technology Alliance (CRGTA) in their project.

In 2009, CRGTA initiated development of an organizational sustainability plan to research the impact of the organization on the local economy and ways it can increase the benefits it brings.

The resulting white paper concluded that formation of the organization has led to further development & growth of the technology cluster.

The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Annual Innovation Awards program has been acknowledging the creative approaches to regional community and economic development since 1986.

Something New at
Haystack Broadcasting

Starting October 4, 2010
Haystack Broadcasting logo

Again there's something new happening at Haystack Broadcasting. Starting Monday, October 4, Gorge Country Y-102 adds local air personality Scott Thomas in the 10AM - 2PM shift weekdays. Thomas joins morning DJ Nolan Hare (6 - 10AM) and afternoon DJ Paula Fairco (2 - 6PM).

That gives Y-102 a completely local air staff from 6AM - 6PM weekdays, unlike any other station in the area. Featuring local people who live and work in the Gorge is just one more way that locally-owned and operated Haystack Broadcasting aims to serve the community, rather than out-of-state stockholders.
