Greetings!
This May is a month of remembrance - full of historical and meaningful events to teach and prepare us. Thousands of Christians mapped the U.S.A. by marching and hosting gatherings in repentance for anti-Semitism and prayer for Israel.
In 1945 Oskar Schindler gave a speech to his Jewish workers as the war and Holocaust was ending. Two days later, Hitler died of a self-inflicted bullet to the head. It was announced to the world on May 1, 1945. Sixty-six years later another Goliath, Osama Bin Laden, dies on Holocaust Remembrance Day May 1, 2011.

On May 8, 1945 the war was over, Schindler's factory could close and its workers to freedom. They gave Oskar a gold ring inscribed with the scripture "He who saves the life of one man, saves the world entire". Oskar's heartbroken realization was "I didn't do enough. I could have done more." Three years later, Israel was reborn. Oskar would often visit his Jewish friends who returned to their biblical homeland. Israel became his passion and where he is buried.
Since the establishment of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948, 4 new holidays have been added to the Jewish national calendar - Yom HaShoah v' HaGevurah (Holocaust Heroes and Martyrs' Day - this year on May 1, Yom Ha-Zikaron (Memorial Day - May 9), Yom Ha-Aatzmaut (Independence Day - May 10), and Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day - June 1). In Israel, these holidays are widely observed as national holidays, but outside of Israel they claim varying degrees of prominence and commemoration. You can participate in them in your local communities, along with the biblical Feasts of the Lord.
