Happy Valentines
Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday this year so pre-school moms get together and decide if you would like to handout valentines at the end of class the week of February 13^th - 18^th. All dancers can have fun valentine's week (February 13^th - 18^th) wearing red hearts, pink, purple or white tights, leotards, skirts and hair bows (ballet shoes must be worn).

Summer Camps, Classes and Intensives

We are busy creating our summer schedule so now is an excellent time to let us know what camps and classes you would like to see at NBB this coming summer. We want your input to create our summer camp and class schedule. Your best bet at seeing the camps/classes you want and when you want them is to organize a group of six or more and let us know what the group desires. NBB Summer Camps and Classes are also for the community. So, by all means include your friends and neighbors in your group. Please e-mail Miss Laura with your summer camp ideas and requests.

Spring Showcase

Our Spring Showcase will be at Station Theatre aboard MCAS Cherry Point on May 26^th. This year we will be showcasing our students' talents (ages 3 & up) while performing the classic ballet Swan Lake. Mr. Bob will be contacting those that still need to turn in their registration form.

Costumes
Costumes have been ordered and we expect to have class pictures the end of April. If you aren't sure that you've turned in your costume fees, you can check the cast list on our website. Pictures of all the beautiful costume that have been picked out for Showcase are available on our website.

Base Access
MCAS Cherry Point will require information from families and guests attending our Spring Showcase. We will have a form for families to complete and turn in and we will provide a list to the base. The list will be at the front gate to check off dancers and guests as they arrive. We will start collecting your information in March.

School Notes

Lost and Found
We have quite the collection of sweaters, tops, leotards and jewelry in our Lost and Found. Please check in case any of these items might be yours. Items remaining in our Lost and Found at the end of the year will be donated to Goodwill.

Order your NBB Apparel by February 11^th

Several families have said they are interested in purchasing NBB Apparel. We'd like for anyone interested in our apparel to place your order by February 11th. Simply download the Apparel Order Form and turn it in with your payment to the tuition box at the studio. Apparel ordered by the 11^th should be ready for you to pick-up the week of February 27^th. Checkout the new hats and order shirts in Valentine colors of pink, red & purple.

School Attire

Check Ballet Slippers for Growing Feet

The start of a new semester is a good time to check how your dancer's ballet shoes are fitting. Please check with Miss Laura if you think your dancer has outgrown her shoes, as sometimes it may be as simple as loosening the draw string. If new shoes need to be purchased, please remember that shoes must be purchased from a dance attire store as they carry the soft-leather fitted ballet shoes, which provides the support and flexibility young dancers require to learn and develop their feet safely. Ballet shoes from discount stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Payless etc) are not acceptable at NBB for several good reasons, that include development and safety.

Check Dress Code Before Purchasing Dance Attire

Before purchasing dance attire please check the NBB dress code for apparel and shoes. Colored shorts, warmers, tights, etc., other than specified in NBB's Dress Code will not be permitted in class.

Sue's Dance Boutique has re-stocked our tights in most sizes. All dancers must wear the brand and style listed in our Dress Code. If you've already received tights, please drop off a check to "Sue's Dance Boutique", if you've not already done so.

NBBCo

NBBCo plans to perform a new ballet for NBB, Peter 'n the Wolf, at Union Pointe Park as part of the New Bern Parks & Recreation Festival of Fun on April 14^th. We'll also be performing for the marines on April 21^st at Station Theatre and again on April 28^th at the New Bern Mall. Casting is complete and choreography has started. Mr. Bob will start creating props soon. Cast and Families should check the cast website weekly for updates.
