July 2012

This is a special edition dedicated to our Canadian members.

If you were homesick on the 1st of July, why not find some temporary relief, eh, and see all 20 movies at the 7th Canadian Film Festival? We're offering members (including non-Canadians) discounted tickets to a special screening of one of the films, with free drinks and nibbles!

We also announce a new fancy addition to the GoGet fleet and ask you to tell us if you want one near you. We also give you the chance to win free membership, ask your opinion about a new safety initiative, and introduce a new regular feature..."Cool things members are up to!"

And don't forget to check out our regular Specials board.

Want to hit the road in style? Be one of the first GoGetters to roll out in one of the new Audi A1s!

Beautifully designed, the A1s have surround stereo sound, state of the art LED lighting and rain and light sensors to keep you safe on the road.

Like our Alfa MiTos, the A1 combines great style with sustainability - the Stop/ Start function helps to reduce CO2 emissions with each trip.

We'll be rolling out the new A1s over the next month at the premium rate of $2 extra an hour.

If you'd like one near you, now is your chance to let us know by voting here.

Surviving Progress Ticket Deal

Next month, between the 13th and 19th of August, you can catch 20 of the best new films from north of the 49th parallel at the   7th Canadian Film Festival.

With an eclectic mix of films, including a comedy about someone fathering 533 children, a documentary about climbing Mt Everest,  an "erotic but cerebral drama" and a "roof raising musical", you'll find it hard to choose which ones to see.

So, to help you make up your mind, and as part of GoGet's 2012 sponsorship of the festival, we're co-hosting a special screening of Surviving Progress - an absorbing, multi-faceted documentary about evolution, progress and social change, from the makers of The Corporation and with Martin Scorsese as executive producer.

We'll be providing free nibbles and drinks before the film and there are 200 discounted tickets for GoGet members and their friends and families up for grabs.

Surviving Progress will screen at Dendy Opera Quays on Wednesday 15th August. Drinks from 6pm, film from 6.30pm. We hope to see you there!

To secure your discounted $12 tickets for Surviving Progress, please complete this form by 10th August.

"You say Priuses, I say Priuii..."

Around three years ago, we introduced the popular hybrid Toyota Prius to the GoGet family. At the time, due to the high purchase price, we had to charge premium rates for them.

Well, we've taken a close look at the role of the Prius and we're now making them a normal part of our fleet by reducing the pricing to standard rates effective from this month.

Our Prius (or Priuses or Priuii!) live in the following locations:

Balgowlah - Condamine Street

Birchgrove - Spring Street

Bondi - Consett Avenue

Darlinghurst - Darlinghurst Road

Kings Cross - 119 Macleay Street

Millers Point - Windmill Street

Mosman - Cowles Road

Potts Point - Brougham Street

Tip of the month

We all have busy lives and it's very easy to get distracted and leave something behind in a GoGet car. You know, a phone, a book, a bag of shopping, or even, on those super-busy days, a child strapped in a baby seat!

So if you find someone else's stuff in your GoGet car, just put it in the glove box or boot and give us a call on 1300 769 389 to let us know.

Note: In the case of finding a child, we recommend skipping the first part.

Conversely, if you ever get home and realise you've left little Jimmy strapped into the rear seat, don't panic! Just pop down to the car as soon as possible and retrieve him. (You should check the booking system to make sure the car hasn't been booked by another member.)

If you can't get to the car or another member has it booked, give us a call and we'll sort it out for you.

Look Before Opening!
Commuting by bicycle is growing in popularity and riders and drivers need to co-exist.

Look Before Opening is an initiative to change driver behaviour and habits.

It's a small sticker on the driver's side window that reminds drivers to check for cyclists when opening their doors.

Let us know what you think on our facebook page, and whether you would like to see them on all GoGet cars. But first, have a look at the video below to see the stickers in action.

Cool things members are up to!

Each month, from now on, we'll be adding "Cool things members are up to" as a regular feature to our newsletters. So if you have a story you'd like to share, shoot us an email.

What do pandas, notepads and sustainable design have in common? More than you'd think, according to Sydney GoGet member and designer, Adam Long.

Adam and his fellow designers at Beehive specialise in handcrafted, sustainable and locally-made products and are launching their latest gem, the 'Panda pad' this month on Kickstarter.

Each pad is handcrafted from 100% sustainable FSC certified bamboo, and laser engraved with your name. Back this project on Kickstarter and you'll receive a free panda pad of your very own. Pandariffic!

Check them out here.

If you have any feedback or questions about the service please drop us an email.

Thanks,
