March 2012
This month, we announce a new service that could save your life - seriously. We also showcase the results of our first collaborative project with members, ask for your help to catch some vandals, let you know of the best way to get rid of an old 'bomb', and a GoGet member offers other GoGet members a discount.

We have also added more cars and pods.

Finally, don't forget to check out the specials board.

We hate losing members!
Attention all GoGetters - announcing a special new service!
If you're going somewhere where you could get lost, like the Blue Mountains or the outback, you can now drop into GoGet HQ and pick up a Personal Location Beacon (PLB) to take with you.

A PLB gives you peace of mind that if you're ever out in the bush without phone reception and something goes wrong, you can activite your beacon. It will send a signal (via satellite)  to authorities who will then know your location and dispatch a search and rescue team.

We have bought two PLBs available for all members to book and use, on a first come, first served basis.

We'll be keeping them at our Glebe HQ, and you'll be able to book them for $5 a day. Just call us on 1300 769 389 to book.

It's also handy if you ever get lost in IKEA - If you find yourself in such a situation, we recommend activating the beacon immediately.

Office Makeover

Last year we kicked off our first major collaborative project with members - GoGet's office makeover.

We invited members to help us redesign our office interior to make it greener, more productive and a better place to come to work.

We were blown away by the response we got from members and everyone is delighted with the result.

A huge thank you to the competition winner Gilo Holtzman and the "A Bit Slow" team!  Check out the video below for the full rundown.

We'll announce our next collaborative project next month!

School Holidays

School holidays are coming up. Are you planning to go away with the family?

If so, don't forget that we have a fleet of people movers - Toyota Taragos and Hyundai iMax - that are perfect for those long lazy trips.

They sit up to 8 people easily. Although, the best bit is, you can put the kids in the back seat, and they'll be so far away from you, that you won't be able to hear them ask "are we there yet?"

There are limited numbers so book early.

Click here to book a people mover.
NewcarsNew Cars and Pods
Thanks to our council partners, we've added new cars into new pods in the following Sydney locations:
Tip of the month
Have you ever been unable to start a car because the key seems stuck in the ignition? No matter how hard you try, you just can't get the car started!

Well, what's happened is that the steering wheel is locked.

To unlock it, here's what to do:
  1. Take a deep breath.
  2. Make sure the car is in 'park - "P" on the gear box.
  3. Turn the steering wheel as far as you can in either direction.
  4. 'Wiggle' the key while turning the steering wheel.

You'll feel the key finally turn and the engine will start. Easy (When you know how!)

Yarn bombing
GoGet is being attacked by a marauding group of needle weilding urban guerrillas.

Nothing seems off limits to these wild  'yarn bombing' subversives - car door handles, antennae, carshare sign poles, even roofracks, are all at risk.

Help us track them down and put a stop to these idealists, who are determined to beautify our urban enviroment, one pole at a time.

If you see any of the perpertrators in action, please do not approach them. They're reported to be armed with balls of yarn and/or knitting needles.

Just take a photo of them and post it on our Facebook page.

Know someone who has a 'bomb'?
Do you have a friend who has an old car lying around? Maybe they haven't got around to selling it because the effort involved is worth more than what they'll get for it. If so, you should forward this email to them.

Kids Under Cover will take it off their hands!

Kids Under Cover is a not-for-profit organisation working to prevent youth homelessness by building homes and providing scholarships and mentors to at risk kids.

They have a fantastic program called "Donate Your Car."

It's a fast and easy way to make a significant contribution. Simply donate your unwanted vehicle to Kids Under Cover  and all proceeds from its sale will go towards helping keep kids off the street.

We'll give anyone who donates a car to Kids Under Cover 1 year's free GoFrequent membership. Just enter the promo code KUC12 when signing up.
