This month, we introduce a new troop-mobile perfect for getting the whole gang together; we let you in on a secret about another vehicle that is simply "electrifying"; we have a tip that will save you loads of time this holiday season; the City of Sydney wins an important international award, and we let you know about something that we're happy for you to 'bag' from the cars.
We also feature a way for you to help some young adults who need a helping and patient hand.
And of course, don't forget those old favourites, a list of all our new pods and our specials board.

Introducing the iMax - People Mover
|
| Introducing the latest addition to the GoGet family of vehicles - the Hyundai iMax.
It seats 8 people and has huge amounts of space, including a large boot enough to carry everyone's luggage.
It has 2 front airbags and an ANCAP safety rating of 4.
It's perfect for piling in the family or a bunch of friends and driving to your summer holiday location.
Be the first "in the know"
We'll be adding ten of these to the fleet over the next few weeks. They'll be snapped up over the summer break, so if you want to be one of the first to hear when they're available to book, send us an email to be the first in the know!
|
And another.
| | Sshhhh! Standby for an invitation to a special event to celebrate the introduction of GoGet's first fully electric vehicle.
We'll be officially launching the car on Sunday, 27th of November, and we'd love you to come along.
We'll be sending out an invite to all members to come down to Glebe for a Sunday morning breakfast.
There'll be 5 iMiev's - we're borrowing extra ones just for the morning - so all GoGet members will get the chance to have a go in one.

Xmas already?
|
| With Xmas almost upon us, yet again, you're no doubt in the midst of Yuletide preparations. Juggling different family obligations, where, in an attempt to please everyone, you'll manage to annoy them all instead.
That's before you even start trying to fit your Xmas shopping in between all the parties you have to attend.
Well, you can make your life a bit easier - just buy everyone a GoGet voucher!
If they're already a member you can buy them driving credit. If they're not a member, you can give them a voucher towards becoming one. Simple.
The only thing left for you to decide is, whether your loved ones deserve a GoGet voucher!
If they do, send us an email with your membership number, and the amount you wish to include on the voucher.
Or, just call us on 1300 769 389.

| City of Sydney's a winner | |
The City of Sydney has won the 2011 Award for Excellence in Carsharing. The City beat other councils in Australia, Canada, the US and South America to take out the international CarSharing Association's (CSA) inaugural award. | Tanya Paz from the CSA, presenting the award to Lord Mayor Clover Moore
|
The CSA noted that the City of Sydney is one of the first local government authorities in the world to set requirements for carsharing in all new multi-story developments.
According to Lord Mayor, Clover Moore, the achievement shows Sydney is a leader in reducing traffic congestion and air pollution. "One car share vehicle can replace up to nine private vehicles on our conjested roads," says Clover. Clover added that the city will continue adding new car share parking spaces towards its goal that by 2016, 10% of all Sydney households will have a carshare membership. "This is an important step in our 'Sustainable Sydney 2030' objective of reducing carbon emissions by 70 per cent," says Clover.

Car ownership not your bag?
|
| Soon you may start noticing bright orange reusable GoGet shopping bags in the boots of our cars.
They are there for you to use and - if you like - keep, and use again and again.
They're perfect for carrying stuff, are better for the environment than single-use plastic bags and you get to walk around letting everyone know that you're a cool, hip, environmentally conscious GoGet member!

More Melbourne CBD pods
| | Over the next month we're adding 17 new locations to Melbourne, including 7 on-street locations in the CBD alone.
And more cars means more convenience!
So now, when you fly to Melbourne, you have even more options for getting around.
|
Tip of the month
| | A simple and quick tip! If parking in a narrow street, please fold back the orange wing mirror.
These orange mirrors are created by master craftspeople who spend months perfecting them using ancient techniques...*
By folding them back you'll reduce the chance that someone will get a touch too close and smash off such beautiful objects.
Don't forget to unfold it before driving off, though!
*Not really. |

Green Light Movement
| | |
The Green Light Movement (GLM) is a pilot project of Bondi Youth Accommodation, a not for profit transitional service for homeless young people.
GLM is a reduced fee, learn to drive program that provides supervised driver training for young people, who don't have family support, to learn how to drive. GLM provides each young person 10 hours of professional driving lessons (spread out over the required 120 'on road' hours).
You can help this great organisation by becoming a mentor (supervising driver), where you'll be linked with a young person and supervise the remaining 'on road' hours.
GLM will provide the car, interactive workshops and on-going support.
All you need is a manual driver's license and enthusiasm to be part of the solution.
If you're interested in getting involved, please contact Jenni Iloski on 9389 7453 or greenlightmovement@bya.org.au.
