Frisco comes to town

UrbanitionSydney and San Francisco, USA, have a lot in common.  They have a reputation for celebrating diversity, each has an iconic bridge, and both have a thriving carsharing community.

It's not surprising they have so much in common... considering they're sisters.

And this year the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery, is partnering with Carriageworks in Sydney, to produce Urbanition, an exhibition featuring some of the best artists each city has to offer.

It features works that "propose visionary solutions to making each city more humane, green and livable." It's on until the 3rd of September, 2011. Check it out.

citycarshareAnd if after the exhibition you find yourself with an overwhelming desire to visit the Golden Gate city, then contact CityCarshare when you get there, making sure to mention you're a GoGet member.

You'll be able to join CityCarshare for only US$10.

How to cut your footprint?
Got a question? As a GoGet member, you're already doing something about reducing the impact you have on our environment. Yet, you're probably keen to reduce it even further. If that's the case, you should have a look at
Reduce Your Footprint.

It's a joint inititative by Randwick, Waverley & Woollahra councils in collaboration with local community groups to reduce the environmental impact of people living in the Eastern Suburbs.

Reduce Your Footprint's goal is to provide "inspiration, ideas and tips on reducing your ecological footprint."

And if you have a specific issue you can't find an answer to on the site, you can simply type in a question and you'll get an answer from a local expert in no time.
The perfect travel accessory
roofracks
Do you ever feel the need to escape to the beach but find the only way you can fit your longboard in the car is sideways, so it's poking 3 feet out each window?

Or maybe you feel like taking a drive with the family to go bike riding in the mountains. However you're left with no choice but to leave the kids at home playing on the XBox, because you need the space for your bikes.

No doubt later you'll feel a slight pang of guilt knowing your kids have square eyes, while you have the wind blowing through your helmet.

Well, say good bye to those pangs! Over the next few weeks we'll be putting roof racks on to selected vehicles.

You can now look forward to hour long drives with the kids in the back seat and your bikes on the roof. (Be careful what you wish for!)

And we need your help to work out which pods should have cars with roof racks. So, if you're keen to have a car with roof racks near you, please vote for your favourite pod.

Tip of the month
Have you changed addresses or mobile numbers recently? If so, please let us know.

Up-to-date address details are essential to make sure your closest pods appear for you when you log in to the booking system.

Even more importantly, an up-to-date mobile number is vital in us being able to contact you when, for example, a member is going to be late returning a car - your car.

We need a way of contacting you so that we can get you going as quickly as possible.

So, please remember, if and when you change your details, shoot us a quick email at
admin@goget.com.au.

Congratulations to GoGetter Jill! Her nomination, 'The Jill' for the 'Official GoGet Greeting' received the most member votes with 32%, just pipping The Judy and The Gabby, and followed, far far behind, by The Aaron and The Dorian.

What shall, from now on, forever be known as 'The Jill', is a twist on an old favourite country greeting. The twist being that it's done in a GoGet car.

Below you will find three easy steps for 'The Jill'!
