UNSW leads the way - GoGet now on campus!

UNSW

Introducing Australia's first carshare pod on a university campus!

Actually, Australia's first two pods! Morris the Yaris and Fred the Yaris now live at the University of NSW's Kensington campus.

UNSW is the first university in the country to give their students and staff an extra sustainable transport option. It will help reduce congestion on campus and will eventually mean less need for allocating valuable space for parking.

The cars are available to UNSW students, staff and of course, to any other GoGet member.

If you work or study at a university and would like this service on campus, forward this newsletter to your Vice-Chancellor.

Thanks for the help!

GGHQ2We have kicked off the first of hopefully many projects we wish to collaborate with GoGet members on.

We have had a fantastic response to our call out to redesign our offices, and not only from designers but also members who have seen our offices.

Our favourite so far, which goes to show why we need our workspace renovated, comes from Bronwyn who sent this email:

"Hi Go-Get,

I've forwarded your problem to a designer that i used... she can do wonders. I've been to your office... i have to admit i was scared!!"

Stay tuned to future editions of our newsletter for more collaborative projects that are on their way!

Thanks to the City of Melbourne we'll also be adding a bunch of new pods in Carlton over the next week.

Tip of the month - Unable to park in a pod
Remember that the easiest way for members to let us know that a non-GoGet car has illegally parked in a pod is to send us a text.

Then we'll let the next member know where the car is parked, saving everyone heaps of time.

All you have to do is include:
  1. The name of the car or its rego number,
  2. The street number and street name of where it is now parked.
So, for example, the text message should read:
  • Peter 12 Macleay St, or
  • ARV234 12 Macleay St
The number to text is 0427 777 769. (This number will only accept texts messages, not phone calls.)

Also, remember that in the case of someone having illegally parked in the pod, members should park their GoGet car in the closest, legal and unmetered spot available.

Remember to also check the windscreen of the car to see if it has a parking permit. If it does, then you can park in any metered parking spots where the signs specify that cars with Parking Permit Zone "17", for example, are excepted from having to pay the meter.

GoGetter's Blog about GoGet

Residents signLast month, longtime GoGetter Richard from Kirribilli wrote a blog post called Public Utilities and Private Grief - The Case of GoGet.

He makes some interesting - and we reckon extremely valid (!) - points about carsharing.

Check out Richard's blog "Digging Wonder".

If you have any feedback or questions about the service please drop us an email or give us call.

Thanks,

Nic and Bruce
