 January 2011
We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing festive season and wish you the all best for the new year.

This month we celebrate the continuing growth of the GoGet community, we get all mysterious about upcoming Projects X, feature a laudable attempt to make our cities friendlier places, give you tips on how to get grooving behind the wheel and of course announce heaps of new pods.
10,000 and counting.

Deanna (right) - member no 10,000 - receiving her GoGet pack from Tanya!
Over the Xmas break Deanna from Clovelly became GoGet's 10,000th member!

It's thanks to members like you that we have reached this milestone; the majority of people who have joined found out about GoGet through existing members.

We have come a long way since 2003 when we started with 12 members and 3 cars.

Dale & Fiona
Fiona and Dale, 2 of our founding (and current) members, before the first ever GoGet trip - 6th June 2003
There are now almost 500 cars!

What's fantastic about this is that there are 4266 less cars on our streets.

Although with over 12,000,000 cars on Australian roads, it's only a drop in the ocean, but, hey - it's a start.

Thanks again for spreading the word.

January Weekday Special - 4 for 3

You can book a car in January for 4 consecutive days, between Monday and Friday, and only pay for 3 days (at $49 per day)! The offer includes 150kms free per day.

*This offer only applies to bookings in January 2011, and does not include Australia Day.

Project X
Project XFor all those GoGet members who have a great idea just itching to burst out...

Starting this month, we'll be calling on the collective genius of GoGet members to help us deliver exciting new projects.

Stay tuned!

Friendly cities
Quick Question: When sitting next to a stranger on the bus, bus seatand another seat becomes available, do you:

a) always move to the empty seat as soon as possible?

b) sometimes move away, depending on your mood?

c) want to move away, but stay seated because you don't want them to think you're rude?

d) never move away, because you love talking to strangers?

We have no doubt that as GoGet members are such a friendly and community minded bunch of people you answered d)!

So you'll probably be over the moon with a project called "I just wanted to say" that aims to get us all chatting.

Now we have all seen the signs designating "priority seating for the disabled" which helps to create a culture of courtesy.  However, the creators of "I just wanted to say" have - in order to encourage a "culture of friendliness" in our public spaces - created the following sign:

Priority seating

Any members who would like signs to stick up in their local public spaces, you can download them here.

So to all you grumps out there who answered a), keep an eye out for these signs and stay well away!

Last month we showcased three new businesses set up by GoGet members. Unfortunately, we misspelled Vinyl Design's website address. So, take two!!

Check out Vinyl Design - they sell cool vinyl stickers, similar to the ones that we apply to our cars, but for your home, office, restaurant, in fact, anywhere. Pictured below are a couple of their designs. Visit Vinyl Design at www.vinyldesign.com.au
