 January 2010
We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing festive season and we wish you all the best for the new year. And we're happy to report that there were no major accidents over the holiday period. Keep up the safe driving!

And although we have greatly increased the fleet to meet demand, please remember that January, and especially of course the Australia Day weekend, is a really busy time for us at GoGet, so we recommend booking a little earlier than usual throughout the month.
January Weekday Special - 4 for 3
This month, you can book a car for 4 consecutive days, between Monday to Friday, and only pay for 3 days (at $49 per day)! The offer includes 150kms free per day.
Job Vacancies
We're looking for a couple of special people to join our team.

1. Member Services
We're looking for someone with at least 2 years experience in an admin role, with good analytical and problem solving skills and who is looking for a full-time role.

2. Fleet co-ordinator.
This role would be perfect for someone looking to get back into the workforce with a part-time role. It's three days a week.  The job entails liaising with suppliers, scheduling and organising repairs. A high degree of organisation and intermediate computer skills are required. This is a very varied and independent role. Full training provided.

For either role, please send us your CV and indicate which role you're applying for. Send your CVs here.

And any Segway driving experience will be highly regarded! (See below.)
Updated Booking System

  New booking system
Members who have booked a car online over the last few days will have noticed our booking system looks a little different.

We have updated it (after feedback from you) to make it easier for members to navigate.

One of the changes we have made is to the Sydney regions. With the growing fleet, the regions were getting a bit unwieldly, so we have broken them down into smaller regions, for example:

Sydney North - Kirribilli/ Lavender Bay/ McMahons Point.

Now, the regions have been devised by someone who grew up in Sydney's Inner West and has lived in Surry Hills for the last little while, but really, doesn't get around that much! So if there are any glaring mistakes, or if you just can't stand that we have grouped your suburb with some other particular suburb, please let us know and we'll try to accommodate you! Just drop us an email.
Tip of the Month - Switch off Aircon
secondsThis month's tip is to switch off the air conditioning at the end of each trip. If it's left on, a member who picks the car up at night might not realise for a while that it's on, so they'll drive around with the windows open and the aircon on.

Switching it off at the end of each trip ensures that the next member to use the car will only use the airconditioning when they think they need it.

This saves GoGet fuel, keeps costs down for all members and is better for the environment.

SegwaySegway-Sharing?

secondsAs part of our Christmas party last month, the GoGet team had a fun day out at Homebush Bay riding around on Segways. Segways are two-wheel, self-balancing electric vehicles.

According to the hype when they came on the market some years ago, they were going to revolutionise the way we travel in our cities. It was also said that it was impossible to fall off.

Well, the jury's still out on whether they'll change the way we move around; you probably won't be seeing any in a pod near you any time soon! But we did find out that you can, actually, fall off... and hurt yourself.

Don't worry, everyone is all patched up and ready for this year's road testing of potential GoGet vehicles..."skateboard sharing" has a nice ring to it.
If you have any feedback or questions about the service please drop us an email.

Thanks,

Nic and Bruce
