Do you too feel like a bit of a fraud celebrating - year in, year out - Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's birthday in June, knowing full well she was born in April?
Stop feeling phony, and this June long weekend celebrate GoGet's birthday instead.
Six long, hard and fun years ago, two guys - one with a really bad moustache - convinced 12 farsighted Newtown residents to try out a weird concept and share 3 cars between them.
The mo didn't last, but GoGet has.
After six years, there are now over 4000 members and almost 200 cars.
Thank you to everyone - members, paladins, staff, advisers and supportive councils - who helped GoGet get to where it is today. |

June Special - Test Drive a Prius
|
|
To celebrate adding the Prius to the GoGet fleet we're giving members the chance to win a free weekend with one.
All you have to do is add an extra driver to your account this month and you'll automatically go into the draw to win a free weekend with a Toyota Prius.
Sign up a friends, family or colleagues, and you could all get to drive the Prius for two full days with 300kms included, for free.
The more people you add to your account the more entries you'll have in the draw.
The winner will be drawn at the end of June and the Prius will be available for a weekend of your choice in July.

GoGet wins Waverley tender
|
|
GoGet has won Waverley Council's carshare tender.
We've been awarded 14 carshare spaces which means more options for new and current members.
The next step is for formal approval from Waverly Council's Traffic Committee which we've been advised will take 2-3 months.
Spread the word to any friends and family who live or work in the Waverly Council area.

Tip of the month - Parking passes
|
|
GoGet vehicles parked in carparks come with parking passes, which can be found in the car's logbook.
It's crucial to use the parking pass when exiting and entering the carpark. And never, ever, take a ticket*.
Taking a parking ticket from the boom gate, means the next member to use the car won't be able to use the parking pass. This not only inconveniences them, but also incurs parking charges which are passed on to the member who took a ticket instead of using the pass provided.
*The one exception to this is the Surry Hills - Albion Street pod. |
Think your carbon footprint's pretty small?
|
|
The next time you have to walk a bit farther than usual to your GoGet car, spare a thought for Joan Pick.
Not
only does Ms Pick not own a car, she has only used motorised transport twice since 1973; once in the hearse at her mother's funeral and once in an ambulance.
She jogs everywhere, only eats raw food,
makes her own clothes and lives without heating in chilly London. Visionary or
complete nutter? You be the judge.
