  April 2009
The winner of last month's Easter Egg draw is Louise from Northcote in Melbourne. For signing up an extra driver Louise gets to munch on a 1kg chocolate egg this easter. The rest of us will just have to make do with a long weekend.

April is already turning out to be a busy month at GoGet. We've replaced 30 older Yarises with new ones and we're excited to announce that we'll be adding a new model to the GoGet fleet...
Toyota Prius coming, quietly, to a pod near you
Prius

As we continue to grow, GoGet continues to roll-out innovative new cars for our members. We'll be introducing the hybrid-electric Toyota Prius into the fleet over the coming months.

The highlights of this car include:
  • Lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption especially when compared to a similar sized sedan
  • Electric motor that cuts in at low speeds especially from a standing start (which makes it very quiet)
  • Regenerative braking that returns electricity back to the battery storage system when the car is decelerating
  • Fun digital display that shows you which motor is working and how well your doing to save fuel and reduce emissions

The Prius will be charged as a premium vehicle at an extra $2 per hour and will be progressively rolled-out across the GoGet network.
GoGet in the news
Thanks to members, Alison Judd, Andrew Parker and Adam Dennis, for talking to the media about GoGet. We didn't realise we unwittingly picked our three best looking members. Check out their cameos in the news stories below:

Australians continue to abandon car ownership in favour of cheaper alternatives

Office clean-up to cut waste and energy
New Cars and Pods
In partnership with our council partners, we've added new cars into new pods in the following Sydney locations:

- Pyrmont - Millers Street
- Milsons Point - Broughton Street
- Waverton - Woolcott Street
- Crows Nest - Holtermann Street

And we've moved the Tarago at Woolloomooloo - Forbes Street to a dedicated bay a couple of metres away at:

- Woolloomooloo - Cathedral Street

Pet policy
Pets Just a reminder about our policy about driving around with pets...

Unless a car specifies that it's pet friendly (see right), pets are not allowed to travel in a GoGet car unless in a pet carrier.

Members will be charged an $80 cleaning fee to remove any evidence of Bluey or Tabatha.
1000 new GoGet employees?
Worms
GoGet's staff numbers have grown massively. While other businesses have been slashing staff, GoGet has added 1000 new workers in the last week alone. And they work 24 hours a day. They can't answer a phone or replace a flat battery though. They're worms.

As part of our ongoing effort to improve sustainability at GoGet, most of our food waste will now be thrown to the worms.

Surry Hills Festival

The Surry Hills Festival is on Saturday 18th April at Prince Alfred Park in Sydney.

It should be a great day, with something for everyone; bands, DJs, sustainable food stores, and even Show Dog Competitions.

If you can tear yourself away from watching poodles jumping through hoops, come and say hello. We'll be manning a stall and spreading the word about carsharing to the unenlightened. And the first 10 members to flash their smartcard at us will receive a free GoGet t-shirt.

If you have any feedback or questions about the service please drop us an email.

Thanks,

Nic and Bruce
