"Credit crunch, global financial crisis, recession, recession, recession!"

Does anyone else feel like crawling under a rock and waiting until it passes? Well, sadly, for most of us that's not an option. So why not take off for a few days to somewhere where there are no newspapers, television or an internet connection?

You could take advantage of our February Special - 4for3.

If you book a car for 4 consecutive days during February you only pay for 3!

And if you want to reduce your financial risk during these dire times, remember that you can change the excess payable if you have a bingle from $1250 to $300 by paying an extra dollar an hour. (Minimum 5 hours).

To reduce your excess just have your membership number and access code handy and click here.
Fuel Card Update
Last year we mentioned that Motorpass, our fuel card supplier, and Caltex were having a little trouble. The situation at the moment is that Motorpass is being accepted at all Caltex service stations except for jointly branded Caltex Woolworths service stations.
 Ipod
And congratulations to Philip from Newtown who was the lucky winner of a brand new iPod Nano. Philip's name was picked out of a hat (actually a bike helmet) containing the names of members who filled up at BP service stations last month.

We're running the same competition again this month, so if you want to be in with a chance to win your own iPod Nano remember to fill up at BP.

Extra driver packs
If you have an organisational GoGet account you can pre-order extra driver packs to store in your office to sign up new staff members easily. Just reply to this email with the number of extra packs you'd like us to send you. Then when you want to sign someone up, just give us a call and we'll have them ready to drive in five minutes.
New Cars and Pods
In partnership with our council partners, over the next few weeks we'll be rolling out new cars into new pods in the following Sydney locations:
- Newtown - Wilson Street, next to Hollis Park
- Newtown - Wilson Street, corner of Forbes Street

And we'll be adding extra cars into the following existing Sydney pods:
- Surry Hills - Crown Street
- Surry Hills - Foveaux Street

And the following pods now have only one car:
- Marrickville - Frampton Avenue Carpark
- Surry Hills - Great Buckingham Street
- Woolloomooloo - Forbes Street

We'll also be adding another Tarago to the fleet.
Itsy bitsy spider...
Wing mirrors Behind each GoGet car there is a team of dedicated support staff and two spiders. Yep, in fact two black house spiders, otherwise known as wing mirror spiders.

You may think that all our native animals have lost out with rapid urbanisation but there are also a few remarkable winners. Japanese automotive engineers have unwittingly designed the perfect spider habitat.

Now before you completely freak out, especially those of our members from the United Kingdom, we have it on authority that it is only a black house spider and that it is not in any way dangerous to humans.

Actually, a clarification, we assume it is a black house spider but nobody at GoGet has actually seen one. Luckily we could turn to Associate Professor Graham Nicholson from the Facility of Science at the University of Technology, Sydney - who has had the patience to stay up all night with a torch to get a good look.

Not only are they snug, comfy and dry, they are also very happy. Consider this,
  1. They travel over 15,000kms per year and get to sample a wide variety of local delicacies across our big brown land
  2. They have a mirror, a big mirror, which actually comes in handy when you need to check out how your web is going
  3. It's probably the last place most insects would imagine getting jumped as they get away from foliage and gardens to bed down for the nightSpider

Addition to the GoGet team

And finally, a big welcome to Katrina Cameron, the latest addition to the GoGet Member Services team. She's been with us just a couple of weeks and is doing a great job.
If you have any feedback or questions about the service please drop us an email.

Thanks,

Nic and Bruce
