NEWSLETTER Issue: 1 January 2009

Welcome to 2009 and our new newsletter. As an improvement all GoGet account holders will now receive two emails, one containing the Activity Statement for last month and the other our Newsletter. If you've got the pleasure of someone else paying the bill you'll just receive our Newsletter.

We hope you had a wonderful festive season and we wish you all the best for the coming year. We're also happy to report no major accidents in GoGet cars over the holiday period. Thank you and keep up the safe driving.

Please also remember that the Australia Day long weekend is a busy time for us at GoGet so we recommend booking a little earlier than usual through the month.

2008 Highlights
GoGet member uses GoGet for her wedding Top 5 GoGet Highlights
1. Launching in Brisbane and Adelaide.

2. Welcoming over 2000 new members taking us to 3000 members

3. When a GoGet car was used for a wedding (Right).

4. The excitement among members when the Popemobile was added to the GoGet fleet for World Youth Day. (Some members still haven't forgiven us for our little hoax.)

5. When a staff member - who shall remain nameless - banged one GoGet car into another GoGet car.
Saving the planet through sharing

In 2008, GoGet members drove, on average, 728kms each.

Prior to joining GoGet, members would drive, on average, 4000km a year each.

In total, GoGet members travelled 7,410,000 kms less last year than they would have if they weren't car sharers.

So by being a GoGet member you contributed to the saving of 1125 tonnes of CO2 emissions last year, not to mention the air pollution associated with exhaust emissions.

And, you've helped remove 1,078 cars off our roads. Thank you for being a part of making our cities better places to live.
Optus says 'Yes' to GoGet
Optus and GoGet
Optus has said 'Yes' to having the first major corporate headquarters to come with a GoGet car ready to go.

A new pod has opened at Optus Centre Sydney at Macquarie Park giving the nearly 6000 workers and the surrounding community 24/7 access to a car share vehicle. Rupert the Yaris is located next to the pedestrian crossing near the entrance to Building D.

The initiative is part of the Optus Sustainable Transport Strategy which has achieved an amazing increase in the number of staff not driving to work. Now the staff that don't drive still have access to a car while at work or can use the car to get home if working back late.

Darren St Georges GoGet's GM heads back to the snow!
GoGet's General Manager, Darren St Georges, is leaving us after four years
to return home to Canada. He's been a vital part of the GoGet family. When
Darren started, the GoGet fleet was made up of 35 cars. Darren's been integral in growing the fleet to over 150 vehicles and he'll be sorely missed. We wish him and his partner Jodi all the best. If you'd like to see on Google Maps where Darren and Jodi are returning to click here.

We're sad to see Darren go but are excited to announce our new GM is Rachel Moore. Rachel's just back from holidays to her second home in Brazil. If you'd like to see the amazing spot in Rio that Rachel stayed at click here.

New Cars and Pods
In partnership with our council partners, we've rolled out new cars into new pods in the following Sydney locations:

And we've added extra cars at:
We've also had to remove the car at Camperdown - Fowler St due to parking issues. It's now down the road at Newtown - Camperdown Memorial Park.
