Do you ever stop to think about family members and others who lived in past generations?   

 

 

Ever wonder who actually made up your family line and what kind of people they were?  

 

 

What were their professions, their likes and dislikes?  

 

 

Their beliefs, where they lived and choices or decisions?

Did they contemplate the future and wonder who might come to be in their family line?  

 

 

Since generations pass on habits, beliefs and traditions, did they consider how their choices or actions might impact future generations?  

 

 

Do we consider how our actions today will contribute to the pages of history and also impact our children and their offspring?  

 

 

What will we leave as a positive, lasting legacy of our life on earth?

How Will Y O U R History Read?  (2 of 5)  

   

         

A very sobering quote reads: "Today I shall behave as though this day is the one by which I shall be remembered."

   

 

The first word of this quote "Today" gives us the hope, joy, and knowledge that in spite of unfortunate past wrong  

 

       actions in our lives, beginning TODAY that there is still opportunity to establish a positive contributing legacy of our lives.  

 

 

Those persons we consider great; Apostle Paul, Peter, King David and countless others did not walk on water and  

 

          do everything right prior to their Day of Commitment to do right in their lives!

Even after making such "Decisions of Commitment" to Christ, they still did not get it right each time, but daily had to  

 

        rely on help from God Almighty and make conscientious decisions to do the right things in life.  

 

 

Our quote- I shall behave- reminds us that we individually must make certain decisions.  

 

 

Regardless of what "others" do or don't do; that we shall behave in the way we want to be positively remembered  

 

                 both in the present and in history.

So the question is "How Will YOUR History Read?"  

 

Will it reflect you as being God-fearing and one who loved and followed Him and passed on a godly legacy?  

 

One who recognized that it was an ABSOLUTE MUST TO repent of your sin and embrace Christ, Daddy-God's Son as your Savior?

Will you live righteously before God and not cultivate sin in your life so that you can usher into your family line the  

 

blessing of Exodus 20:6- But I (the Lord) lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love    

 

           me and obey my commands?  

 

On the other hand, the result of choosing not to live godly lifestyles and passing that example on to our children and their children  

 

          will usher in Exodus 34:7(B)- But I do not excuse the guilty.  

 

I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected- even children in the  

 

          third and fourth generations."

Will Your History read that you were a kind, loving and compassionate person?  

 

 

One who truly loved and cared for family and people in general and tried to help them as much as possible?  

 

 

One who was not self-centered or concerned only with what made YOU happy regardless to the price which it cost others?

Will Your History read that you valued each day and attempted to make each day count?  

 

Will you pass on the legacy of being faithful and dutiful or of being lazy and unreliable?  

 

Who we are today is because of what "they" passed on to us!  

 

Who they were formed our beliefs and actions.  

 

Lets' enrich and positively impact our future generations because we were in their family line!

Let's be people of faith and conscious of the goodness of God; and pass on to our generations the testimonies that  

 

     God is faithful, loving, a Provider and protective Father.  

 

 

 

We should celebrate the glory of God in our lives which will manifest in our family line-

 

    Psalms 102:18-Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the LORD.

This will contribute to them passing on a God-filled legacy to those who will come after them.

Hello Dr. Lewis, Re: Dare to Believe God!!!!!!   I'm living for the promise that God has promised me. I must live an upright life while I am waiting. Some of His promises have already been fulfilled when I have been tried in the fire. I will come forth as pure Gold when (we) are tried in the fire- He's getting some stuff out of us that is hindering us from living all that we should be living and giving, for we as Christians can do better. "He said the Heavens and Earth would pass away before (His Word) would come back VOID" I will tell anyone that if you want to get in trouble with GOD try paying an enemy. The difficult part is WAITING. I'm sure Abraham and Sarah can witness to "THE PROMISE KEEPER" when we try to help God we invent Hagars- NOT TOO GOOD! Take care!! Blessed week!
