"The Cry of His Disciples" (1 of 5)
When we experience difficult or painful situations in life, it is not that Jesus doesn't care or doesn't hear our prayers or
know what we are experiencing! No! No! No!
There are going to be storms in our lives!
Mark 4:35-As evening came, Jesus said to His disciples, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake."
V. 37- But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.
Scholar Guzik reflects: "The Sea of Galilee is well known for its sudden, violent storms.
The severity of this storm is shown by the reaction of the disciples (we are perishing).
Several of the disciples were experienced fishermen on this very lake, but they were frightened and feared perishing in this storm."
Yes, we will experience fierce storms in life!
Storms of bereavement, sickness, poverty, broken-hearts, tears and pain!

"The Cry of His Disciples" (2 of 5)
Absolutely, the winds will violently blow and the thunder will seem as though the sky will fall in on us!
But our main concentration during these times is to make sure we are in the same boat with Jesus!
This will be the case when we have surrendered our hearts to His Lordship, have an active relationship with Him and
are walking in love and obedience to His will!
This was the case with the Disciples. Scholar Wiersbe observes "Jonah ended up in a storm because of his disobedience,
but the disciples got into a storm because of their obedience to the Lord."
However we are told in V. 38-Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with His head on a cushion.
The Disciples woke Him up, shouting, "Teacher, don't you care that we're going to drown?
"Jesus was on board with the Disciples!
He was right there with them in the midst of the storm!
Jesus was only "A Call" away!
Scholar Guzik reflects: "The wind didn't wake Him, the arguing of the disciples didn't wake Him and
water splashing over the boat didn't wake Him.
But at "The Cry of His Disciples", He instantly awoke.

Jesus is like the mother who sleeps through all kinds of racket, but at the slightest noise from her little baby, she instantly awakes."
When "The Cry of His Disciples" was made, He responded to their cry!
When we recognize that we have a need that only Jesus can remedy and we call out to Him, Jesus will respond to us!
Since this fact has been proven over and over in the Bible and in our own lives; then why do we act like we are all alone in our storms?
Why do we have "Pity Parties", cry the blues and choose to focus on what we are going through?
V. 40-Then He asked them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?
When we do so, we are denying the Word, Power and love offered us by our Lord and Savior!
Because Jesus does love, cares and is faithful to us; we should observe His behavior in the same storm which the Disciples were in!
He was asleep in the midst of the storm with His head on a pillow!Sleep represents restfulness, peace, trust and faith!

Yes, we can have peace in the midst of our storms!
This only occurs when we cry out to Him and then choose to praise Him!
When we enter into a time of praise and worship, this ushers us into "The Place of Peace", the experience of
Philippians 4:7- Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Peace which make others think we have emotionally lost grips with reality!
The experience of Peace that literally blows their and our own mind!
Peace which secures our feet on sturdy ground because we are anchored on a sure foundation which is Jesus Christ, the Son of God!
When we learn to connect with the Spirit of God through praising Him, we will create around us the atmosphere of peace!
We will discover by Praising Him that we will be able to survive ANY STORM WHICH COMES OUR WAY!

Let's conclude with a time of praise! Lord we praise you!
We thank you! We give you all of the glory! We love you Lord God!
Thank you for already being on board with us!
Thank you for your presence in the midst of our storms!
Thank you Lord for teaching and demonstrating that we can have peace during difficult and trying times!
Thank you that prior to our journey of life, you planned a specific destination for our lives which communicates the assurance of
our survival through any and all things which come our way!
That if we stay on board with you, we will arrive at our awesome destination!
Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord, Thank you Lord!
Thank you for your love being revealed to us!
We praise you Lord in Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
