"Buckle Your Spiritual Seat Belt" (1 of 5)
During the journey of life we will experience various types of rides!
Some will be fun and thrilling while others will make us wonder if we will even survive them!
In both cases, to ensure our safety, seat belts must be used during our travel.
Even though using them has proven time again to be a major factor in saving people's lives, why is it that we still must be reminded and even
sometimes ticketed to buckle up and use them?
Even on our spiritual journey, the same mentality is unfortunately found.
We have and will always experience bumpy rides during our "Journey of Life".

"Buckle Your Spiritual Seat Belt" (2 of 5)
The reason for experiencing these tough times can be found in
Genesis 2:16- And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
V 17- but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."
Genesis 3:6-...and he did eat.
When Adam chose to disobey God by partaking of the forbidden fruit and mankind since then which definitely includes us, continuously
makes decisions and exhibits behavior contrary to God's desire, those actions usher in pain, suffering, sickness and death in our journey through life!
Those types of experiences produce bumpy and aching rides and cause accidents; that if we don't spiritually buckle up, could even kill us!

"Buckle Your Spiritual Seat Belt" (3 of 5)
When we don't embrace an on-going and thriving relationship with the Lord Jesus; when we try to handle the trials of life all by ourselves;
when we look to other people rather than to the Lord to solve our problems, or to medicate our pain with alcohol, drugs,
inappropriate relationships and the like, we are not using our "Spiritual Seat belts" which would secure our heart and mind in the "Place of Peace"
regardless of what we experience (Philippians 4:7).
However, when we allow the love, power, protection and grace of God to surround and embrace us, we find that even the unpleasant bumpiness of
life experiences cannot destroy our spirit and faith of the help offered by our GREAT GOD!
Thus the cry of necessity to "Buckle Your Spiritual Seat Belt" is as the cry for our natural lives!

"Buckle Your Spiritual Seat Belt" (4 of 5)
When we live our lives accordingly to the commands of God, when we choose to love and learn of Him and allow Him to lead and
guide us, it equates to "Buckling Our Spiritual Seat Belts!"
Then when life issues happen: the pains, sorrows, trials and tribulations which toss and turn our lives upside down; we won't be spiritually destroyed.
"Buckling Our Spiritual Seat Belts" means we decide to trust God and His love for us and to reflect on how He has already demonstrated His love to us!
As we do this, we secure (Buckle) ourselves into the sweet love of Jesus and rest in knowing that Jesus covers and protects us, for He promised never to
leave nor forsake us. Our Lord God really wants us to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we can trust Him, depend on Him and that we are safe in His arms!

This is why Daddy-God desires that we "Buckle Our Spiritual Seat belts" by
reflecting and embracing the lyrics of the following song: "All of My Help" (from Psalm 121)--
I will lift up mine eyes to the hills--From whence cometh my help---
My help cometh from the Lord---The Lord which made Heaven and Earth---He said He would not suffer thy foot---Thy foot to be moved---
The Lord which keepeth thee--He will not slumber or sleep---Oh the Lord is thy keeper---The Lord is thy shade---Upon thy right hand,---
Upon thy right hand---No the sun shall not smite thee by day--Nor the moon by night---He shall preserve thy soul---Even forever more--
My help, my help, my help---All of my help cometh from the Lord. God keeps His people at all times and in all situations.
So the decision we must make is to "Buckle Our Spiritual Seat Belt" and travel through life in the security of God's arms around us!

1] Prayer is not a "Spare-Wheel" that you pull out when in trouble, it is a "Steering Wheel" that directs us in the right path throughout life.
2] Do you know why a Car's WINDSHIELD is so large and the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE! So, look ahead and move on.
3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes a few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4] All things in life are temporary. If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don't worry, they can't last long either.
5] Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds!! If you get a Diamond, don't forget the Gold!!! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!
6] Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, "Relax, it's just a bend and not the end!
7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn't solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.
8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: "Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?" He replied: "Yes. losing your vision."
9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow's TROUBLES; it takes away today's PEACE.

Good morning Dr. Lewis. As I was reading today's message, I was shouting. Oh, yes! But Jesus...........no one can do it better than Jesus. Personally, I have experienced many setbacks and challenges. These pasts few months have not been easy. I am holding a layoff notice in my hands. And, it goes on and on. Yet, Jesus gives me hope. He gives me what I need. He has always provided when I was running on empty. I know I serve a God of abundance. A God who does not love me one day and hates me the next day! His love is unconditional. Whew, I am really excited about my God. Dr. Lewis, may God pour out his blessings upon you! I love and appreciate you. You are my Spiritual mother.
