Greetings!
If It Had Not Been! (1 of 5)
The Psalmist David pens in Psalms 124:1-If [it had not been] the LORD who was on our side...
If each of us would stop and meditate on this statement, we would very quickly be able to fill in the blank with several responses!
Some responses might be: If It Had Not Been the Lord on Our Side, we would not have learned the lessons of
right and wrong for Satan doesn't educate but rather encourages our ignorance to keep us enslaved! We would not be able to be truthful with ourselves and identify our short comings and sins nor received the Wisdom of God which set us free if "It Had Not Been the Lord on Our Side"!!!
We would not have people who love us, are praying for us and care about us!
We would have never overcome tough times or experienced favor even from persons who without God's
persuasion would not have favored us!

If It Had Not Been! (2 of 5)
We never would have celebrated joyful events or had been given chance after chance to get it right "If It Had Not Been for the Lord on our Side"!
We would not have had the opportunity to accept Jesus as our Lord and experience a newness of life and attitude and be given a chance to
choose where we are going to spend eternity, whether Heaven or Hell, if it wasn't for the Lord!
There were definitely times we would have been fired from our jobs, lost our places of residence, cars and belongings; but God was with us!
Yes, we have experienced some very difficult situations in life!
However, we now know that if we would have listened to the Voice of God that came through individuals who tried to deter us, (that we ignored) or
obeyed God's voice through our conscience, we would not have experienced the negative situations that we encountered!

If It Had Not Been! (3 of 5)
"If It Had Not Been the Lord on our Side, we would not have wonderful memories or occasions of laughter and fun!
Neither would we have that high school diploma and/or college degree!
We would not have been born when we were, where we were and to whom we were born!
We would not know the positive people in our lives, "If It Had Not Been for the Lord on our side!!"
We would not have experienced the love we have or the faith which keeps our mind and heart in peace during stormy times!
After all of the negative things we have done, our lives would not have purpose nor would we have the ability to do good "If It Had Not Been
for the Lord on Our Side!"
We would not have received gifts that made our hearts so very glad!
Neither would we have the breath of life or even the ability to keep on breathing while we sleep and slumber, "If It Had Not Been for the Lord"!

If It Had Not Been! (4 of 5)
The Devil would have BEEN ABLE TO FULFILL EVERY EVIL plan against us "If God had not been on our side!"
We would have been treated unfairly and injustice would have prevailed!
We would not have had anybody in our corner when we really needed them, "If it had not been for the Lord."
Concerning our enemies, each of us can agree with what Psalmist David said in
V2-If [it had not been] the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
V3- They would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger.
V4- The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us.
V5- Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives.

If It Had Not Been! (5 of 5)
But IT IS A GREAT BLESSING THAT WE CAN ALSO SAY AMEN TO what David says in
v. 6- Praise the LORD, who did not let their teeth tear us apart!
V.7- We escaped like a bird from a hunter's trap. The trap is broken, and we are free!
Each of us has experienced situations we definitely KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT WAS A POWER GREATER THAN
our abilities that kept us safe!
No matter what evil we have done, no matter how we have missed the mark in the past, we are still here to experience the joy and love of
God because He is on our side!
We can become the beautiful Angels whom He created us to be! Because of the truth in
V8- Our help is from the LORD, who made heaven and earth, we can do a complete turn-around in those areas which have enslaved us!
Because the Lord Is On Our Side; let's make sure we stay on the Lord's side by loving Him, reading, applying and living out His Word in our lives and
remembering that He loves us so very much!

Dear Dr. Tonya: Your newsletter is very nice. You have a new format this month. I like it. M A
Oh Dr. Lewis. That "Moments of Opportunity" was an outstanding piece!!! To just take a moment and think that those parents had no idea their son #1 would lose his life at an early age and #2, their son's loss of life would cause an awakening, would begin a movement. Although it is good we are waking up, such pain. I love seeing the world change, but I don't want to lose my son and I know you don't want to lose yours. Too deep!!! Thank you for the thoughtful word!!! P S
Subject: Re: "Moments of Opportunity" Thank you, again, Dr. Lewis. Today's message touched me profoundly. As I reflect on life, I realize that nothing is to be taken for granted. Your message put light on thoughts I've been entertaining regarding my own mortality and that of my loved ones. Now, I know I have to put my house in order and take care of unfinished business. Life is fragile, indeed. In the meantime, I will live life to the fullest and will enjoy the moment more frequently. Lessons learned. Thank you for confirming what Daddy-God had put in my spirit.
