  Two Questions You Must Answer!    (2 of 5)

  

     

The first question that one could ask is: Based on One's Actions, How Might Their Reputation Be Described?  

 

Psalms 132:1 reflects the song the travelers sang and testified of David's actions.  

 

Our actions are viewed and evaluated by others; which will determine what is said and thought about us!  

 

 

Based on our actions, people will be attracted and follow our model of action or will totally disregard and disrespect our example.  

 

As Christians, we MUST BE MINDFUL TO LIVE AND BEHAVE IN SUCH A WAY THAT OTHERS WILL BE ATTRACTED TO  

 

                        MIMIC OUR ACTIONS!  

 

 

We MUST REMEMBER THAT OUR ACTIONS DIRECTLY REFLECT HOW OTHERS VIEW THE KINGDOM OF GOD!  

 

THUS, WE MUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO MISREPRESENT THE MIGHTY ONE OF OUR LIFE!

 

  

              Two Questions You Must Answer!  (3 of 5) 

  

 

  

The second question would be: "How Much Are You Willing to Sacrifice for the Glory of God?"  

 

Verse 2-4 describes the great sacrifice which David made to accomplish V5- to find a place to build a house  

 

                for the Lord, the Mighty One of Israel.  

 

When we rightfully acknowledge God's greatness in our lives-that He is the Mighty One of our lives, blessings, faithfulness,  

 

                      provision and protection; it will propel us to maximize whatever we can do for HIS Glory!  

 

 

V1 reflects "Remember David" which calls to remembrance his zeal, labor, trials and all his troubles and anxieties,  

 

                   experiences of seeking out the ground on which to build the Temple, his care and toil in collecting materials,  

 

                    projecting the plan and devising ways and means to build a permanent place for the Ark-the symbol of  

 

                 God's presence with them.  

 

This was even after the Lord told David that Solomon should build the house and not him because he was a man of  

 

war and blood 1 Kings 5:3; 1 Chronicles 22:8.

David still continued to honor his vow by collecting treasure and materials for the Temple to be erected his son and successor.  

 

After David came to the throne, a new palace was built for him II Samuel 5:11.  

 

He implied in Psalm 132:3-he should never enter into it with pleasure until he had found a dwelling place for God and  

 

                  his mission was completed.  

 

  

 

 

Because the chief charge of the king was to set forth God's glory, he was choosing neither peace nor satisfaction of mind before  

 

               he had executed his office.  

 

It is not that he would never sleep until this mission was accomplished, but that he could not and would not suffer himself  

 

             to sleep comfortably and quietly until then.  

 

David sacrificed his personal ease and comfort in order that he might honor God.  

 

What ease and comfort can you personally sacrifice to honor God?

How much will you inconvenience yourself to vow and to fulfill your vow to gracefully complete your commitment to God?  

 

How much of your time, finances, abilities and influence are you willing to sacrifice for the Glory of the Mighty One of your life?  

 

In which areas has the Holy Spirit been speaking to your heart to increase your commitment to even more to honor God?   

  

 

 

Let's cease from embracing the spirit of self-centeredness and embrace the spirit of completion, no matter what we will  

 

             have to experience and suffer.  

 

We must embrace 1 Corinthians 15:58- Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the  

 

          work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
