Greetings!
The Scenic Route (1 of 5)
Very seldom in this microwave-era do we take the time to enjoy the beautiful, picturesque "Scenic Route" of our life journey! Because of our need and desire to quickly arrive at our destinations, we miss out on the relaxation and refreshment that comes when we allow ourselves to chill out and just go for the ride. 
This is also true in our experiences with God. We instantly want all of the "Blessings" RIGHT NOW that He has for us. We definitely don't understand why God "wastes time" by taking us via the "Scenic Route" and why we are ushered from one experience to another. However, Daddy-God insists that we go through a process of being made ready to receive what He has for us. Daddy-God is determined that each of our opportunities is intended to mature our relationship with Him, within ourselves and with others.

The Scenic Route (2 of 5)
While God definitely plans to manifest "MORE" abundant blessings in our lives; they won't be in our desired time zone or manner.
This is why we must develop the skill of graciously waiting on the Lord's timing and plan which will enable us to enjoy the "Scenic Route"
of our journey and to thoroughly enjoy all of His blessings.
Writer Ley Anne reminds us in a quote "God is the Author of whom we are and where we are to go."
This is verified in Isaiah 55:8-"My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the LORD. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
Psalms 37:23-The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Job 23:10-But he knoweth the way that I take: [when] He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

The Scenic Route (3 of 5)
Scholar Matthew Henry reflects "Those that keep the way of the Lord may comfort themselves, when they are in affliction, with these three things:
[1.] That they are but tried. It is not intended for their hurt, but for their honour and benefit; it is the trial of their faith, 1 Pt. 1:7.
[2.] That, when they are sufficiently tried, they shall come forth out of the furnace. The trial will have an end
[3.] That they shall come forth as gold, pure in itself and precious to the refiner. They shall come forth as gold approved and improved, found to be good and made to be better."

The Scenic Route (4 of 5)
On "God's Scenic Route" of development for our lives, among the many things He is doing is refining our attitudes and
developing our mindset to reflect the mind, willingness to submit and obey, to love God prominently and that of servant-hood as is in Christ Jesus.
Yes, while God's plan is to "Bless" us, His greater plan is to develop our character, our abilities and to increase our
knowledge which will promote Christian maturity in our lives.
This is why although we don't understand the timing or way of the Lord;
we can be encouraged with Pastor Norman Hutchin's song- "God is Up to Something", for truly He is!

The Scenic Route (5 of 5)
Each of us can look back at past experiences and truthfully say "Oh, now I see!
Now I understand what God was doing and I am so thankful that He did what He did" in my life!
God does have a purpose and plan for what and why He does, how He does it and when He does what He will do.
So we must chill out and resolve to travel the "Scenic Route" for our lives so that we will see the manifestation of God's GREAT PLAN IN OUR LIVES!
As we continue to mature in Him, we will be encouraged to wait patiently on the Lord to do what He will do, for "Father Knows Best"!

Good Evening Dr. Lewis, Thanks for this particular email (Why Should I Believe Him?)--It really hit home! Every once in a while-- I do question God. But then I have to remember that the SAME GOD- (that) has already brought me OUT!!! Is still keeping me OUT!! The key component is to REMEMBER. My prayer it that He helps our unbelief. I really was moved by the saga of the two men lost at sea----we---- never know who's PRAYING FOR US. Do believe that large hats or any size hats will always be a thing in Black Churches especially with ladies from the old school. R. Tims came across as not too convincing. The fellow did his home work concerning the RECESSION/DEPRESSION. MY Grandmother used to talk of the times was not so nice! GREAT TALK SHOW! Much Love And Peace Sis. P.(Because He Lives)
