Don't Dishonor God!

Volume 151                    November 20, 2011

  Greetings!

Don't Dishonor God!    (1 of 4)

Dishonor means to discredit, bring shame on, disgrace and to humiliate.

We can dishonor God in many ways including the choices we make, how we treat one another, what consumes our desires, what we talk about,

where we go, what we look at on TV, what we listen to, whether we rest and trust God as our Heavenly Father, etc.

Definitely allowing disobedience and sin to dictate our lives dishonors our Great God!

Whatever difficulties, challenges, unanswered and unresolved issues we are facing in life, we must rest in the fact that our God

sees, cares, loves us and that He will act on our behalf.

When we act like we are alone, hopeless and defeated, are worried and can't sleep or eat, that dishonors our Great God!

    Don't Dishonor God!    (2 of 4)

When we don't trust Him and become frustrated, that will definitely lead to dishonoring God.

Frustration is the feeling of dissatisfaction, often accompanied by anxiety or depression, resulting from unfulfilled needs or

unresolved problems (which leads to grumbling and complaining; doubt and rebellion, all which equals to dishonoring God.)

frustration

There is no PEACE (Placing Emphasis and Confidence Every Time) in God when we allow Frustration to rule our mind.

To not sanctify or rightly represent the Lord to others and to ourselves can be very costly.

Because our lives are to be the visualization of God's holiness and peace on earth; the Lord God does not overlook our misrepresentation of Him.

Don't Dishonor God!        (3 or 4)

Numbers 20:12 -The Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation

into the land which I have given them.

Because this Scripture deals with the sin of Moses and Aaron, God's children who were considered holy leaders, this reminds us that none of us are above sin and the consequences of sin!

REMINDER 2

Honoring God must be our central focus in our relationship with our Lord God Almighty!

Since we live in an increasingly careless society, it has become more common to act disrespectfully toward God, the opposite of honoring Him.

Yet the Lord has promised that those "that honor me I will honor" (1 Samuel 2:30).

God's honor is not totally dependent on if we honor Him, for the psalmist wrote that God is "clothed with honor and majesty" (Psalm 104:1).

         Don't Dishonor God!         (4 of 4)

However, this does not relieve us of the responsibility of honoring God in every facet of our lives.

Paul even goes so far as to imply that the failure to honor God is a type of voluntary insanity, a uselessness of mental processes (Romans 1:21).

honoring and praising God

Each of us as God's creation not only has an obligation to honor God, we have a need to do so.

Honoring God must be more than lip service.

It must come from the heart (see Isaiah 29:13); it must be seen in our actions, heard in our words and displayed throughout our lives.

Be holy as the Lord God is Holy!

Obey His Word!

Don't attempt to live two lifestyles; one at church and a totally different one at other places.

LET'S COMMIT NOT TO DISHONOUR OUR GREAT GOD! Bless you!

                     Words from the Heart!

heart in glass hands

Thank You-Thank you- Thank You!! -Dr. Lewis

For the Scriptures of encouraging words, I can indeed think of at least three things to be real unhappy about--But-I have decided to BE HAPPY!! I am learning to be J MEYER and J OSTEEN, (smile) and less of Dr. P and receiving - strength from King David, King Solomon and servant Job. Much love, Sis. P, Happy Upcoming -(Thankful Day)

Hey Dr. Lewis, Thanks so much for the Word for the day what a blessing to be able to Praise the Lord! You are right we need to praise Him all the more. I know it makes me feel a lot better when I praise Him!  Also want to let you know, I got very sick on Wednesday. I went to the doctor and he said the arthritis is very active and with Rheumatoid it is something else!  I am coming around the swelling in my hands and feet is going down and I thank the Lord for that-- something to Praise Him about. Something else to Praise the Lord about!!!!!  You take care and know that we love you and the Ministry! Keep Praying!  L V

Hello Dr. Lewis: Well, it is 3:25 in the morning, way past midnight.  You may be wondering what I am or was doing this late at night.  Well, I was raising my praise. You see Dr. Lewis; we were invited to a wedding. We stayed for about three hours, after which I went to get the car which was parked about two blocks away.  When I got to the car, the driver's side glass window was damaged.  Some criminal or criminals had shattered the window.  There were pieces of broken glass everywhere, in the car, on the ground outside the car. Dr. Lewis do you know what surprised even myself?  I was not angry or upset. I know I have been praying to God to strengthen my faith, in addition to every other request.  And I did not even struggle. We prayed and thanked Almighty God that nobody was harmed or hurt.  It could have been worse but for the grace and mercy of God. My wife's big bag with her set of house keys, driver license, credit cards and so many valuables that we had locked up in the trunk were all stolen.  We taped the window with plastic bubble wrap and went inside.  The rain came down on us as we were trying to secure the window the best we could until morning. And when I checked my email, I saw your message.  Is that a blessing or what, Dr. Lewis?  It is certainly a blessing to have God's favor in your life even when the devil thinks he has won.  He has won, absolutely nothing.  Glory be to Almighty God.  Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.  He is our Lord and Savior!!! Minister C k
