Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call"
Volume 147 October 23, 2011 |
|
Greetings!
Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" (1 of 5)
Family member, employee and church worker, are among the various "Privileged Roles" we experience in life!
There are times when we look forward to completing any assignments or duties required in these roles!
Other times it is challenging to accomplish those things that are essential.

Sometime we take our "Privile ged Roles" for granted; not considering there are countless people who would love to have "Our" Opportunity of Responsibility.
When we lose appreciation for our "Privileged Roles", we halfheartedly serve and complain about what is expected from us.
When we honor and value these "Privileged Roles", we discover the joy of being a blessing to others that God has
situated deep down in the essence of performing each role.
We receive joy, fulfillment, rewards and benefits from "FAITHFULLY" fulfilling the mandates upon our lives.
When we appreciate these roles, we begin to realize that God has blessed us to have a connection with
life and people that material items cannot satisfy.

Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" (2 of 5)
We have heard various slogans: "I Would Rather Serve than Be Served", "Just Do It" "We Try Harder',
"Reach Out and Touch Someone," "Fly the Friendly Skies," and "Be All You Can Be"!
Slogans are memorable motto-s or phrases used as repetitive expressions of ideas or purposes.
Slogans are used to remind the Provider of how they should serve as well as to impress upon the receiver the commitment of
the person or company!

Each of us should adopt the "Slogan" of this article's title;
"Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" as the repetitive reminder of how we are to serve in each of our life roles!
We are to be faithful, meaning to serve worthy of belief or confidence, be trustworthy and reliable;
being strict or thorough in the performance of duty,
true to one' words, promises, vows, etc. loyal and constant.

Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" (3 or 5)
Colossians 3:23- NLT-Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
When this is done, we produce quality work and benefit those persons who receive our service!

We are to be committed to serve even in situations we would rather not be, when
"we don't think" the receivers "deserve" our service and even when our service is unappreciated and not recognized.
We are to serve as the poor wise mandid as noted inEcclesiastes 9:15- KJ-Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.

Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" (4 of 5)
Also, we should be faithful to the call as was the nameless-wise woman described in 2 Samuel 20:16 who saves her city from
a siege through her wise advice to the residents.
This is another reminder that we must be "Faithful to the Lord" in the rendering of our service even when we "save people's lives" and are not acknowledged as was the case of this nameless man and woman.

If we look for acknowledgments and honors from people; we will be greatly disappointed!
Also, because of offense and lack of appreciation, we won't "Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" of our roles!
Proverbs 28:20-KJ- A faithful man shall abound with blessings...
NLT- The trustworthy person will get a rich reward...
Daniel 6:4- Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but
they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he [was] faithful...

Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" (5 of 5)
Matthew 24:45 NLT- "A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.
V. 46- If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.
V. 47- I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.
V. 48- But what if the servant is evil and thinks, 'My master won't be back for a while,'
V. 49- and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?
V. 50- The master will return unannounced and unexpected,

v. 51- and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites...
1 Corinthians 4:2-NLT- Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
Therefore, Let's Be "FAITHFUL" to "The Call" so that we will experience the promise of Matthew 20:4 to be rightfully rewarded at the end of "Our" day.

| Words from the Heart!

What's Your Defense? THANK U MY BIG SISTER I REALLY ENJOY THIS,,,,,,,LOVE U! C E
Dr. Lewis, Timely message with Dr. King's memorial today; he was wrongly accused and jailed so we could enjoy a better life. His defense was he had a 'dream'. Also, I was watching a 51 year old boxer last night who wrongly spent 27 years in jail; he was finally released and still chased his dream of boxing at 51 years old. His defense for his 27 years while he was in jail was he was innocent; he was finally exonerated. Sometimes we are wrongly accused, but God can turn our bad situations around for our good (Romans 8:28). I place my trust in God so He can defend me and everything else works out. Thanks for your dedication to this ministry. Take care and God bless. V R
Hi Dr. Lewis! Thanks for the pictures of Elder Ben Stephens! I know he's going to be another Bishop Blake! Sure do miss him. C W E
Good Morning Dr. Lewis--I have no defense other than the Holy Spirit. I may have a couple of people that will vouch for me as character reference, which I do sincerely believe that one of the individual is indeed a True Friend. I don't want to lose any friends this late in life. And one thing we Must do; forgetting those thing which are behind us. I notice in Life when we confess our shortcomings then they have nothing else to USE against us. I believe this is why Oprah has Lasted so long >> She tell the truth on about herself and takes M. A. advise -Why The Cage Bird Sings - the bird has No Choice she is in a CAGE (smile). a cage call LIFE and- IN THE END WE STILL WIN!! See you soon, much love. E P
Dr. Tonya, thank you so much for sending these. What a blessing. I always value the gift of 'peace of mind.' That's what I have asked the Lord for one day and He gave it. Be blessed, sis. Love you. C T
Thank you- Dr.T. This was so good and true you can never get that good reputation and name back. Been there done that, never to do that again. Thats was so nice of you to put Pastor Ben Stephens and Trinity on your site. Love and Blessing to you. S R
Hey Dr. Lewis, What a great Word for the day, you know they accused our Lord wrongly and some will do the same to us even though we live right. But as you said we have to protect our reputation and character by living right and the only way we can live right is by living for the Lord. Like you said "talk is cheap" so we have to do what is right in the sight of God and men. Hope all is well with you! Love you lot's! L V
