HEED THE LESSON!!!

  Greetings!


                        "Heed the Lesson!"    ( 1 OF 5) 

 

 

One of the reasons the Lord had the Israelites' history recorded in the Bible was so that we would glean from them and  

 

          not have to experience firsthand the difficult lessons they learned.  

 

That's if we humble ourselves, don't judge them and admit that we have the same sin tendencies which they possessed!

If we don't learn from their journey, we will experience double the wrath for our disobedience since we can observe their experiences from beginning to end and  

 

            see the rewards and consequences of their choices!  

 

They could only hear what was promised to them; whether blessings for obedience or judgment for disobedience.  

 

However, we can read of the journey and end result of their choices.

One such case worth noting is found in   

 

Joshua 7:11- Israel has sinned and broken my covenant! They have stolen some of the things that I commanded must be set apart for Me. And they have not only stolen them but have lied about it and hidden the things among their own belongings.

V 12-That is why the Israelites are running from their enemies in defeat. For now Israel itself has been set apart for destruction. I will not remain with you any longer unless you destroy the things among you that were set apart for destruction.  

 

V15- The one who has stolen what was set apart for destruction will himself be burned with fire, along with everything he has, for he has broken the covenant of the LORD and has done a horrible thing in Israel.

One such case worth noting is found in Joshua 7  (cont') 

 

V 20- And Achan answered Joshua, "Truly I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and this is what I did:  

 

V21- Among the plunder I saw a beautiful robe from Babylon, 200 silver coins, and a bar of gold weighing more than a pound. I wanted them so much that I took them. They are hidden in the ground beneath my tent, with the silver buried deeper than the rest."

V24- Then Joshua and all the Israelites took Achan, the silver, the robe, the bar of gold, his sons, daughters, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats, tent, and everything he had, and they brought them to the valley of Achor.  

 

V-25- Then Joshua said to Achan, "Why have you brought trouble on us? The LORD will now bring trouble on you." And all the Israelites stoned Achan and his family and burned their bodies.   

 

        Among the lessons we can learn from Achan's account are:  

 

1) What God says to do or not do, He means it and will respond accordingly to our choice of action.

2) God knows when we disobey Him and then steal, lie and try to hide those things or persons that He told us not to have any dealings with.  

 

3) We can't expect success and the defeat of our enemies when we are not in full obedience with the Lord.  

 

4) We must take responsibility for the trouble we experience which are direct results of our choices.  

 

5) We must provide a holy, honest and obedient atmosphere in our lives which Daddy-God will delight inhabiting and realize that although He loves us, He will not negotiate His demands.   

 

6) We must realize that whenever we disobey God it is not a small or cute action; but it is as the Lord describes it, "A Horrible Thing".  

 

7) Nothing is hidden from God for He knows EVERTHING, EVERY ACTION AND EVERY WORD!  

 

Therefore, it is best that we do not violate God's law!   

 

However, if we unfortunately choose to disobey, and by grace are given the "Opportunity to Repent",  

 

                    we must acknowledge and confess our sin and definitely ask for forgiveness.

Among the lessons we can learn from Achan's account are: 


8) Be careful of what we allow to attract and HOLD OUR ATTENTION for if left uncensored, it can be DEADLY FOR US AND our loved ones!   

 

9) NO THING OR ANY PERSON who has been labeled off limits by God is "THAT UNRESISTABLE" that we absolutely have to yield to the temptation.

10) We can't deny that we don't know right from wrong; for along with the guilt of our actions, are the actions of trying to conceal our "SIN".  

 

11) Nothing is done in the dark that won't come to the light. Nothing is done in secret that will not be exposed and may be revealed by ourselves.    

 

12) Our wrong choices don't just negatively impact us, but also will include others whom we may or may not know.  

 

13) God is true to His Word rather it is to bless or to punish, for the "Promise of Blessing" or the Promise of Judgment" shall eventually be manifested! So family lets "Heed the Lesson!"

When you have given a person your time-this is the best gift you can give an individual. Money comes and go but people will not always be in our life they flee, they abandon us, they move on for whatever the reason as we know we can lose our possession in a twinkling of an eye/Disaster.

When this happens, we Must have a solid Foundation -JUST GO TO THE ROCK.

 

We have to eventually cut the Vampire loose that drains us emotionally, physically and financially. Last but certainly not least----THE ONE THAT DRAIN US SPIRITUALLY. The one that sucks the very Life out of us, one Drama after another and on and on, Much Love P E
