Our Lord God is concerned about the quality of our lives; if we are happy, fulfilled and satisfied.
Daddy-God also desires for us to be known as people who are kind, loving and caring.
Yes, He desires that we progress from level to level in all that we do and experience joy and success.
However, where mankind and God's desire differs is how those end-results are obtained. Unfortunately, mankind is mainly concerned about our own selves, desires, comforts and joys while quickly disregarding the state of others; and will do anything necessary to accomplish our "self-centered" desires. On the other hand, God's plan for us to experience fulfillment, growth, satisfaction, happiness, etc. is obtained through another method of action.

God has penned in Proverbs 11:17- K J V - The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but [he that is] cruel troubleth his own flesh.
NLT- Your kindness will reward you, but your cruelty will destroy you.
Let's reflect on some nuggets from the "Let God be True" website;
"This proverb can change and affect your life!
You can do yourself a world of good, or you can torment yourself, depending on what you do with it.
God blesses merciful men with goodness, but He chases cruel men with trouble.
Humanity is cruel and selfish by nature. Adam gave all men a depraved, sinful nature that is cruel, hateful, and malicious (Rom 3:13-18; Titus 3:3).
Mercy toward others is only by the Holy Spirit, and it is a trait of godly men (Jas 3:17-18).
Such men, by showing mercy to others and themselves, bring blessings on their own souls.
But unmerciful men, with hard hearts toward others or themselves, bring pain and suffering on their own lives.

Mercy is "Forbearance and compassion shown by one person to another who is in his power and who has no claim to receive kindness;
kind and compassionate treatment in a case where severity is merited or expected." (OED).
Mercy is kind to those who do not deserve it and cannot repay it.
It forgives proper obligations and debts.
Mercy gives up rights in order to help another, even when the choice is costly.
Men by nature are unwilling to give up rightful claims to help others - they are selfishly cruel, only thinking of themselves.
Following the prince of the power of the air, they accept his murderous ambitions (Eph 2:1-3; John 8:44). Since being rejected from Heaven for pride, he seeks to destroy men in this life and in hell to come. God despises the devil and wicked men: He loves mercy, and He rewards it in men. He values mercy even more highly than His own ceremonial commandments (Matt 12:1-7).

Rewards for mercy - God is merciful and He expects His children to be good to their own souls.
Jethro taught Moses to have mercy on himself by appointing assistants (Ex 18:13-26).
David taught the importance of putting things in God's hands and going to bed (Ps 127:1-2)!
Solomon added the exhortation to rejoice in all good things (Eccl 9:7-10)!
And Paul told Timothy to teach that rich Christians could still enjoy the good life (I Tim 6:17-19).
Punishments for cruelty which an unmerciful man causes himself by his ungenerous choices includes;
the miser is miserable and cannot sleep -
he has the evil disease of greed that torments him (Eccl 4:8; 5:10-17; 6:1-2).
Money is to be spent and used, but the covetous man cannot think of pleasure, only more hoarding.
The workaholic does not know mercy, because he never does any good to his own soul.
He troubles his own flesh!"
So, dear family let's choose to be merciful and thereby "We Will Bless Our Own Selves"!

Something in my spirit kept urging me to read your eNewsletter. I kept putting it off. Finally, after moving it to another section within my email bins (lol), I stopped and started reading and literally could not stop. I even took pictures of the mantras so that I could have them on hand for quick reference in my phone. Those words offered have resonated very deeply with me and were in fact confirmation for me on a day I could really use the encouragement. Hey Dr. Lewis- thanks for the Word for the day and every day, this one is right on!!! We really do need to watch the message we are sending with our lives we are talking loud without saying a word! I really like the word from Mr. Lee that says: "Never compare yourself with others. Do the best you can with what you have from where you are....and be true to yourself" Your Character says a lot about you! I know for a fact that people are watching when you thinking they are not your life is a witness for God or I should say it is suppose to be! We need to know what our lives are saying to others!!!!! My message this month is to "Chill!" The enemy specializes in agitation, aggravation, and humiliation. He works on our emotions which lead to the big "S" word - stress! Stress along with an incorrect diet can lead to high blood pressure, and at the right moment when the devil has used your family, loved ones, co-workers and drivers on the street - he'll take you out like a light. You'll be sitting up in heaven wondering how you got there. Here's how: by not casting all your cares on Him, and not trusting that He knows at least as much as you do and nothing takes Him by surprise. So my word this month and every month is: Chill!
