WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY NAME?
(1 of 5)
A powerful quote states: "A man has three names: the name he inherits, the name his parents give him, and the name he makes for himself" (unknown).
Let's consider the following thoughts. The name we inherit is either through birth or adoption. We don't have any say-so as to our connection and association with our name or the stigma or honor attached to that name.
Whatever was accomplished or paved before us is inherited as a result of our relationship. The name our parents give us is through their choosing.
Some parents take careful thought in the choosing of their children's names and give names to represent the success and honor which they desire for their children:
(Abigail- source of joy) (Tabatha- sweet and gentle) (Tonya- worthy of praise) (Joseph-God will increase) (Lewis- famous warrior) (Terrell-powerful).

Unfortunately, some names parents call their children do not positively enhance their lives; such as stupid, dumb, fatso, loser, and the like.
Perhaps not intentionally, but as an unfortunate consequence, negative names may impact children's lives through adulthood.
As with inherited names, we don't have the control of the names or labeling given us by our parents.
The final reference the quote mentions is; "the name we make for ourselves".
This remark is powerful in that it can free us from the negative associations or stigmas we were born into or from the negative labeling which our parents may have given us.
It frees us to know that even right now, we are offered the power to make change and to create in our lives the name and labeling which we desire, to re-establish our own "POSITIVE" identity.

We can be freed to not make choices to repeat the negative behavior or actions we have seen in our family line.
We can choose to be different and successful as renowned football coach Vince Lombardi once said "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will."
When we put forth our will to do, our will to go, and our will to be, it will position us in a different place and move us forward.

We deceive ourselves when we think we don't have to do anything but ride on the success of others. No we can't!
Each of us must take the time, make the effort, make choices and follow through with actions to etch out what our individual name and identity will be in life!
How do you desire to be known; as a giver and not just a taker, loving and not bitter, doer and not lazy, an encouragement and not a hater?
The answer to the question of "What Is Your Primary Name?" won't be answered with our words; but by our actions!

It also proclaims the responsibility we must exercise to positively establish our names
whether we are born into an inheritance of shame or honor.
Even if we inherited a name of honor; our individual choices will either add our name to the "Wall of Honor" of the family name or
brand us as being the "Black Sheep" causing shame and embarrassment to that "Honored Name".

If we have been labeled with an inheritance or been established by our parents with names of shame, we can educate ourselves through the Word of God that
He desires to come into our lives and to change our "Stinking-Thinking" for His glory.
We can learn how to "Love Ourselves by Improving Ourselves and Improve Ourselves by Loving Ourselves"!

WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY NAME? (5 of 5)
We don't have to let our "Primary Name" be determined by what "They" say or think; whoever "Those who have been or are negative toward us"! We can choose through our actions to have a respectable and honorable name and reputation. Yes, although we have done and said some things that have us in a negative light now; we can change the perception of who we are by repenting and asking Daddy-God to help us, choosing to submit our lives and walk in obedience to the Word of God, seeking wholesome counsel, apologizing to persons we have offended, stop being lazy and to get up and begin to have positive actions!
Establish and continue to strengthen a good name for yourself for we are told in Proverbs 22:1 KJ- A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold. NLT- Choose a good reputation over great riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver or gold. Blessings and honor to you in Jesus' name! Moving forward ( Please Click Here)

Precious Nuggets He lives who dies to win a lasting name. ~ William Drummond
The future has many names: For the weak, it means the unattainable. For the fearful, it means the unknown. For the courageous, it means opportunity. Victor Hugo~
The names that do the serious damage are the ones we call ourselves. The stereotypes we give ourselves are the ones that matter in the long run, not the ones imposed on us by other people. Judith Harris
