 Greetings!

YES! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U!    (1 of 5)

After Jesus had risen from the tomb, two men were walking along the way to Emmaus and were discussing the recent events which had occurred. He joined beside them and asked what they were in such deep discussion about.

(Luke 24:19)-"What things?" Jesus asked. "The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth," they said. "He was a prophet who did wonderful miracles. He was a mighty teacher, highly regarded by both God and all the people. V. 20-But our leading priests and other religious leaders arrested Him and handed Him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified Him.

The men first commented that Jesus was a man, respected and acknowledged as come from God, and he had a good reputation with the people.

YES! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U!

                                          (2 of 5)

Jesus had demonstrated Himself to be a prophet who did wonderful, helpful and loving miracles.  It was obvious that He was concerned about others.

Who Jesus was and what He had done by being an effective and powerful Teacher and that He was highly respected by both God and man could not be truthfully denied by anyone!

We must not go through life demanding respect but rather living the kind of life and doing the kind of good works which will demand and secure respect for us from both God and man.

We have people today who are discussing each of us! YES! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U and M-e! The question is what are we demonstrating through our lives which are fueling their observations?

Our determination must be to seek God for our

assignment in life and focus on His will for our lives

Opposition

Despite any challenges or persons who may try to deny or prevent us from moving forward for whatever reason they might have to stop us; we must remain determined.

Audience 1

God will provide us an audience of those who will recognize and respect our ministry and labor. Those persons accepting our ministry will be blessed; those who won't accept it will be driven to conspire against us! But even with that, we must stay focused on doing the will of God for our lives. Because we know that they are conspiring against us; we won't be surprised at what is said or done against us by them.

Jesus allowed Himself to be condemned and crucified even as He allows us to be condemned and crucified.

YES! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U!

 (3 of 5)

These two men testified of Jesus' fruit, how He did wonderful miracles and was a mighty teacher.

What is the testimony of "Your Fruit" as described by other people?  Does it bear witness of your kindness, love, compassion, of your sowing good into the lives of others or does it testify of your self-centeredness, meanness, laziness, selfishness, etc? Does "Your Fruit" testify that you are fulfilling God's purposefor your life?  YES! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U and M-e!

men talking

In spite of the men's powerful testimony of Jesus' fruit, V. 20 states a disappointing "But" about the leading priests and religious leaders.

But our leading priests and other religious leaders arrested Him and handed Him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified Him.

Don't be surprised when the very people you desire or fully expect to support you DON'T!! The very people we think would receive and support our purpose and drive will be the very ones who will not. Some people we want in our corner will not support us so therefore we must get over it and stay focused on pleasing God.

This is exactly why our focus can't be on being men-pleasers! YES! THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U and M-e!

YES!THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU!  (5 of 5)

Jesus' satisfaction was that no matter how much they conspired against Him, the leading priests and religious leaders could not erase any good that He had done in the lives of the people.

satisfaction

Thus, even though He had been crucified; here were these two men who might not have directly experienced Jesus' actions, still reflecting on His deeds.

Jesus also allowed the momentary mistreatment of Him to happen; for He knew that it would not be the conclusion of the matter.  He would rise in spite of being killed and His death would not be in vain.

Know that even when we are mistreated, disrespected and even crucified; that our obedience to Daddy-God is not in vain and can never be erased away!

So, even though "THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT Y-O-U and M-e, we must stay focused on and complete the assignment of our lives.

Then our living and dying won't be in vain.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb yet He lives today!

 FIVE FINGER PRAYER

1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach,
instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They
need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep
them in your prayers..

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders.
Pray for the president no matter how you voted, leaders in business and
industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide
public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4 The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact
that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It
should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain.
They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which
is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the
Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie
should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper
perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much!
