Greetings!
Don't Listen to...!
Each of us is tempted by our enemies and definitely by the father of lies-Satan-- to not believe in anything that might spark hope in our lives including God Almighty.
The purpose is to steal, kill and destroy the belief that we can expect great things in our lives such as employment opportunities even in the midst of the "Recession", healing of diseases in our bodies, transformation of family and friends' lives, cessation of negative views or actions against us, healing of relationships and the list goes and on.
Scripture tells us in 2 Kings: (Chapters 18 and 19) of how King Sennacherib of Assyria threatened to take away Judah's hope! Judah recognized this as a believable threat as the Assyrian army had already terrorized so many other people.
Who or what is the King Sennacherib of Assyria in your life that has threatened your hope and belief that you can expect great things in your life? Observe the following event and be encouraged for your life!
(2 Kings 18:19)-... to King Hezekiah: "This is what the great king of Assyria says: What are you trusting in that makes you so confident? V. 20-Do you think that mere words can substitute for military skill and strength? Which of your allies will give you any military backing against Assyria?

v. 23-"I'll tell you what! My master, the king of Assyria, will strike a bargain with you. We can't compromise and resort to making bargains with our enemies as though that is our only way of deliverance from them.
V.29-This is what the king says: Don't let King Hezekiah deceive you. He will never be able to rescue you from my power. V.30- Don't let him fool you into trusting in the LORD by saying, `The LORD will rescue us! This city will never be handed over to the Assyrian king.'
V.31- "Don't listen to Hezekiah! These are the terms the king of Assyria is offering: Make peace with me--open the gates and come out. We must realize the only power that our enemies including Satan have over us is when "we open the gates and come out".
We must stay in the Ark of Safety through our obedience to God's Word. V. 32- Then I will arrange to take you to another land like this one--a country with bountiful harvests of grain...a land of plenty. Choose life instead of death! "Don't listen to Hezekiah when he tries to mislead you by saying, `The LORD will rescue us!'
We must not fall for the lies of the enemy! LIFE WILL NEVER BE the same as it is in the Safety of Submission to God's will and definitely not better for us if "we open the gates and come out."
We will never be better off doing things our own way or bargaining with the enemy.

Don't Listen to...! (4 of 5)
V. 20...Isaiah...sent this message to Hezekiah: "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer about King Sennacherib of Assyria. V. 21- This is the message that the LORD has spoken against him:
V. 22- `Whom do you think you have been insulting and ridiculing? Against whom did you raise your voice? At whom did you look in such proud condescension? It was the Holy One of Israel!
V. 23- By your messengers you have mocked the Lord... V. 25- But have you not heard? It was I, the LORD, who decided ...what I am now causing to happen, that you should crush fortified... V. 26- That is why their people have so little power and are such easy prey for you. ...V. 27- `But I know you well...I know the way you have raged against me.
V. 28- And because of your arrogance against me, which I have heard for myself, I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your mouth... Bible Scholar David Guzik reflects- This is exactly how the Assyrians cruelly marched those whom they forced to relocate out of their conquered lands. They lined up the captives, and drove a large fishhook through the lip or the nose of each captive, strung them all together and marched them. God said, "I'm going to do the same thing to you."

V. 33- Have the gods of any other nations ever saved their people from the king of Assyria?
2Kings 19:1- When King Hezekiah heard their report, he ...went into the Temple of the LORD to pray. V.2- And he sent ... to the prophet Isaiah... V.3- They told him...This is a day of trouble, insult, and disgrace...
V.6...This is what the LORD says: Do not be disturbed by this blasphemous speech against me... V.7- Listen! I myself will move against him, ...King Sennacherib further stated in V 10- Don't let this God you trust deceive you with promises that Jerusalem will not be captured by the king of Assyria.
V11- The King's messenger said; You know perfectly well what the kings of Assyria have done wherever they have gone. They have crushed everyone who stood in their way! Why should you be any different? We should do as Hezekiah did in
V. 14- After Hezekiah received the letter and read it; he went up to the LORD's Temple and spread it out before the LORD. V. 15- And Hezekiah prayed this prayer before the LORD: "O LORD, God of Israel ...You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth.
You alone created the heavens and the earth...Listen to Sennacherib's words of defiance against the living God...V. 19- Now, O LORD our God, rescue us from his power; then all the kingdoms of the earth will know that You alone, O LORD, are God."

V. 29- Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Here is the proof that the LORD will protect this city from Assyria's king...Daddy-God always gives us some type of "Faith Bit Proof" to encourage us that He is with us and that we are on the right path in trusting Him.. V. 32- "And this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria: His armies will not enter Jerusalem....
V. 34- For my own honor and for the sake of my servant David, I will defend it." V. 35- That night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian troops. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere.
V. 36- Then King Sennacherib... V. 37- One day while he was worshiping in the temple of his god... his sons... killed him with their swords...escaped and one of them reigned in his stead.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Try everything twice.

2. Keep only cheerful friends.

Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever...

8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips..
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county,
to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
Remember! Lost time can never be found.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
