Latter Days! (1 of 5)

Job 1:1 NLT-- describes Job as being blameless, a man of complete integrity, feared God and who stayed away from evil. It was not that Job was absolutely faultless, however his desire was to be as close to "perfect" (mature) to God as possible and this desire dictated his disciplined devotion. It was the fear (reverence) of God that kept Job from evil as we are reminded in Proverbs 1:7-The fear (reverence) of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. Daddy-God is mindful of our hearts as written in 1Samuel 16:7- for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart
He knows those who are truly seeking first His kingdom rather than focusing on earthly gain and are choosing as Jesus did when He came to earth; to simply trust God's promises for His protection and provision. Daddy-God desires that we truly embrace Luke 12:32- Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure (great happiness) to give you the kingdom (royal power and dignity).

Latter Days! ( 3 of 5)
Although Daddy-God did not cause Job's sufferings, in order to develop him He did permit Job to suffer for a "Season." Many scholars believe Job's suffering lasted for seven (7) years. Because our Heavenly Father knows what type of suffering and how much we can handle, He decides which troubles and the time frame Satan can bring our way.
Daddy-God knew that even through the impending experience Job would yet trust and refuse to insult HIM (Job 2:9-10). There were times in Job's "Developmental Season" when he knew that he was innocent (Job 31:1-40) that he accused God of being unfair (Job 23:13-17). He felt that God should help him, while not realizing that God was in reality always there enabling him to persevere while teaching him to understand that God is always fair (Job 34:10-12). In the midst of Job's development he declared that God would rescue him (Job 14:13-17), that death is not the end of everything (Job 19:25-27) and that God is yet great and mighty no matter what we suffer (Job 26:5-14).
Daddy-God was also developing Job to experience a "Latter-Day" quality of life and blessings! Daddy-God was about to manifest in Job's life Jeremiah 29:11-(NLT) - For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Words of Expression!
Hello Dr. Lewis, I needed time out to really get myself together. I was working for less than seven months and my job close down. It was tough looking for another job again. I decided to go back to school. The class will not start until the second week of September. I really appreciate seeing your emails. I told myself, I do not have all the TIME in the world. My TIME is running out. Keep in mind you are in my prayers every night. I need all the prayers I can get with my schooling.
May God Continue to Bless You All,

Latter Days! (2 of 5)
As we walk
through this journey of life that is filled with trials, tribulations, disappointments and the undeniable presence of evil, it is crucial that we hold on to the promise of God in Isaiah 43:2- NLT-When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
Whether we cause painful ordeals or are victims, there is no comfort outside of trusting God. We must secure our grip on Daddy-God's promises especially when it is He who asks Satan; Job 1:8- "Have you considered (noticed) my servant Job (your name)?" God "referenced" Job to Satan because God knew Job loved Him and was His servant.
Furthermore, because Job had yielded his life to God, The Lord knew that Job had the faith and determination to endure ALL WHICH HE WOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE! In addition, because Job was still living on earth and had not departed to the eternal side of Heaven, there was more development and glory that God could extract from Job's life for the Kingdom

Latter Days! (4 of 5)
God desires that we settle within our hearts and declare as Job said in Job 42:2- "I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. 3- You ask, `Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?' It is I. And I was talking about things I did not understand, things far too wonderful for me. 5- "I had heard about you before, but now I have seen You with my own eyes. 6- I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance." For people who have offended us, we must be spiritually mature enough to forgive so that God can tell them as He told Job's friends in Job 42:8b-.My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not been right in what you said about me, as my servant Job was." God is building within us a Christ-like spirit, so that we will not have bitterness in our hearts against those who offend us. Because of Job's obedience to the Word as found in Job 42:10 to -pray for his friends, and as a result, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD restored to Job twice as much (over the course of time) as before! Job experienced the blessing of God when he prayed for his friends rather than when he argued with them although they were in the wrong. We exhibit the Father's nature when we express love and forgiveness toward others who have wronged us.

Latter Days (5 of 5)

Daddy-God presented Himself as described in Hebrews 11:6- He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Job experienced God's manifestation as found in Job 42: 11- Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him...consoled and comforted him... each of them brought him a gift of money and a gold ring. Because Job had patiently suffered for the glory and the advancement of the Kingdom of God and also held on to his faith in God Almighty, Daddy-God rewarded Job over and above what he had lost during his tribulation.
Job 46:12a- So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. Job 42:16-Scholars estimate Job was seventy at the time of his great trial, however after his tribulation he lived a hundred and forty years (per The Septuagint 170 years). Daddy-God doubled Job's "Latter-Day" season for him to enjoy his doubled rewards.
If we endure to the end of the "Developmental Season" God will make our "Latter-Days" more peaceful, prosperous, enjoyable and comfortable than our previous experiences. Eph. 3:20-Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think... Endure through the time of development and your Latter-Day experience (on earth and definitely in eternity) will be worth enduring-it will blow your mind!

To chase down a dream!
Sorry I've been MIA but we just finished the movie, For Colored Girls, and I have to tell you, I have new respect for Ntozake Shange's 1975 writings. Listening to these words spoken through the voices of Phylicia Rashad, Kerry Washington, Tessa Thompson, Macy Gray, Kimberly Elise, Thandie Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson and Loretta Devine, made me not only respect the brilliance of the material, but also pull out everything in me to do my best to give it the care and attention to detail that it deserved. Out of all that I've ever done in my life, nothing has taken more out of me than this film. It is remarkable.
Being so drained, I decided to take a few days off. Yesterday I was hiking a mountain in Hawaii with a friend. I was laboring up this beautiful green pastured mountain, looking down at my feet trying to be sure of my footing, while at the same time trying to catch my breath from the altitude. At times, I would make big steps, sometimes all I could do was take small ones. The terrain was uneven and rough at times. It took a lot of effort and a lot of thought so, needless to say, I was getting really tired and at times wanted to stop or just turn back.
I got to one peak and I thought "I'm here, great, we can rest now" only to realize that just because I was at the top of one peak, that didn't mean I had arrived. There were more...more valleys to go through and more heights to reach. It was interesting to me, that in order to go higher, we usually had to go down through a valley, and it went on and on and up and up. I was tired and wanted to sit down but my friend said, "Come on, let's go a little higher." So, not to be outdone by a girl (lol), I dug my hiking boots in and went a little higher. We finally got to one of the highest points and she said to me, "This is the best part, now turn around." I turned around and behind me was the most amazing view that I had seen in my 40 years on this earth. As far as my eyes could see, beauty reigned. The Hawaiian Islands seemed to be leaping up out of the silver blue sea, stretching up to catch the dust of the sky. The clouds seemed close enough to catch in my hand and make a wish; rays of sunlight danced through them trying to find a path to show off their own glow and power. Not even Picasso could have out-painted the canvas that was before me. The heavens were declaring the glory of God. I saw Him in motion.
I said to my friend, "When did we get this high?", and she said, "It was in the climb." I couldn't help but think about life - mine and maybe even yours. I thought about how hard it had been for me chasing down my dream. I thought about how hard it can be to believe sometimes. I thought about the entire struggle, all of the pain, all of the hope, all of the doubt. I thought about the times I was working a dead end job, trying to believe; moving through day-to-day with my head down just taking one step at a time, some small, some big ones, wanting to give up; wanting to stop and sit for a while; wanting to lay in my sorrow; nobody believing in me; nobody thinking it would come to pass and never realizing that every step was taking me closer to higher. That hike was painful, it hurt, but through it all I was getting higher and had no idea how high I was. That's what it's like to chase down a dream.
Sometimes in life dreams are hard to follow, like that climb. You don't know how high you're going or even if you're moving, but every step, even when you can't see what's behind you, will take you closer to your goals. It's in the climb. I know you may be struggling right now, but you're in the climb; things may be hard right now, but you're in the climb; people may not believe in you, but it's part of the climb. They may take shots at you, but stay in the climb; you may have to stand alone, but you're in the climb. Even if you're not where you want to be right now, I want to say to you what she said to me, "This is the best part, now turn around." Look how far you've come. God has not brought you this far to leave you. Stay in the climb.
So thankful for all of you. Be well. CLIMB!
