State Wildlife Grant Action Alert |
We ask you to support conservation
funding through the State Wildlife Grants program by contacting your legislators today. The State Wildlife Grants Program provides federal money to every
state and territory for cost-effective conservation aimed at preventing wildlife
from becoming endangered. Because this funding is annually appropriated, the
Teaming With Wildlife Coalition must work each year to ensure that it remains in
the budget.
In Missouri, State Wildlife Grants bring in approximately $1.2 million each year, and make possible the Missouri Department of Conservation Wildlife Diversity Fund and Missouri Bird Conservation Initiative (MoBCI) Grants.
Missouri has very strong bipartisan support for the State Wildlife
Grants Program. We give a huge thanks to those that have already signed the "Dear Colleague" letter in support of funding for State Wildlife Grants in Fiscal Year 2011: Senator Bond, Senator McCaskill, Congressman Carnahan, Congressman Cleaver, Congressman Graves, and Congressman Skelton. In addition, Congresswoman Emerson has agreed to send a Programmatic Request in support of State Wildlife Grants.
Today is the final day for members of Congress to sign on to the important "Dear Colleague" letter in support of State Wildlife Grant funding. If you are in any of the districts listed below, please contact your Congressman today and urge them to sign on to the State Wildlife Grants "Dear Colleague" letter.
