Raising Grace Ranch
rooster

Things are quiet on the farm as winter approaches. There are fewer chores and fewer mouths to feed.

There is a sense of loss as we adjust to the change, but we are also acutely aware of the natural rhythm we participate in as the seasons unfold.

So we open our hearts and let go of all we need to release as we hunker down to enjoy this time of appreciation, reflection, and peace.

Raising Grace Ranch provides healthful naturally and humanely (an understatement!) raised meats as well as educational experiences for those who wish to understand more about how healthy food should be raised. Buy local!!

autumn laneBreathe Deep

The dramatic wind outside my cabin today rings the chimes and thrashes the tree tops. Its motion reminds me to breath deeply and let myself be filled all the way to the top.

I love wind. It can be so powerful one day and so gentle the next. We can't actually see it; we only see the effects of it. It has a lot in common with the energy found in our hearts, when we remember to turn to that sacred place.

Heart energy holds all the wisdom, peace, and power we could ever need. It also knows how to proceed gently in our most delicate situations. When my ego is in charge, I say things that hurt people, things I deeply regret. When I move into my heart, the right words come as they are needed and I often find that words are no longer necessary at all.

There are many things that can distract us from the peace of our hearts during this busy season. Perhaps you can be reminded to turn to yours and breathe deeply whenever you notice the wind.

May the smile that lives in your heart warm you.

Many blessings,

Sharon
