Dear Friends,

I'd like to thank all of you who have been so helpful with the publication of the second edition of my book: Reconnecting to WHOLENESS, Discovering Ah-Man. It's happening in Gods time; certainly not mine. But I do expect that the second edition to be out before the summer. It has some added material, and many grammatical corrections, thanks to all of you!

The Awaken Wellness Fair is just around the corner on Saturday, April 16. There is something for everyone there. During the Fair, I will be speaking at 12:30pm on IMPRINTING, a form of meditation and healing. The following week, on Saturday, April 23, I will be leading a three-hour retreat on IMPRINTING at Opal Moon in Croton on the Hudson. You'll find more details about both events below.

And be sure to visit the Ah-Man Blog in April, to find out more about the difference between being present and in the Presence. The dialogue begins in this month's featured article below.

Namaste,
Michael
THE "PRESENCE" OF SPRING

Spring is upon us...the time of year when many things come to life. Nature unfolds. It's the renewal of regular outdoor activities, such as walking, running, biking, hiking, etc. One of my favorites sports, baseball, returns.

As my life progresses, I have noticed more and more that while partaking in the activities of Spring year after year, something has changed for me. Maybe it comes with age, but mostly I think it comes with awareness.

What I've begun to notice is that while I really enjoyed participating in Spring activities, I also really enjoyed watching others enjoy the things that they were doing.

I'm not talking about being present here, in the sense of being in your own skin, fully aware of what is going on right in the moment, able to take in all that you see, feel and hear in without being distracted by your mind or senses.

What I am referring to is being in the Presence. Watching the Essence of God within creation and others. Seeing the Light within others shine. Watching the Essence of life unfold in a flower...a bud on a tree...in nature in general. Knowing that everything happening at that moment is part of a bigger plan.

And in the bigger plan, as in life, there is birth and there is death. There is joy and there is sorrow. There is night and there is day. Over time, I was not only able to see the Presence in the joyful things, but also in the sad things; not only in the Light but in the Shadow as well. For there cannot be Light without Darkness, nor Darkness without Light.

It began not so much from witnessing others, but from watching myself and how I reacted. It was an evolving process. Early on, as I witnessed my activities, I began to notice my reactions and feelings more. Instead of moving with the feeling without awareness, mindlessly letting my feelings guide me to my next action, I was able to step back and not let my feelings dictate my actions.

I believe this came about for several reasons. One is because of all the work I had done with my support groups and therapy, and then, later on, the biggest factor was my spiritual practice.  Meditation is one of those practices, and I have to say it's my favorite.

I have been told that meditation is not a forceful act, but a gentle consent to God's Presence Within Us. I can remember very early on in my life, when I was 16-17 years old, being in nature, on a mountain top, by a stream or just sitting in the middle of the woods, in silence and listening. It was such healing act for me. A peacefulness would wash over me. The mind chatter would cease and I felt the Oneness of my soul with nature.

Later on, I came to believe and know that the silence was God within creation, healing me and giving me a glimpse of the peace I have now found through my spiritual practices.

The support groups and therapy helped me separate the feelings and connect old "wires" with new actions. But meditation was the key to helping me slow down and witness the feelings, witness the actions and, most importantly, not be judgmental or overshadowed by them. When I was able to be in that place, I began to see and feel the Presence more and more in all things in my life.

So I invite all of you to not only be present while Springs arrives, but to be in the Presence of Spring.

During the month of April in the Ah-Man Blog, I will share some examples of the difference between being present and being in the Presence.

Peace and Love always,

Michael

UPCOMING AH-MAN EVENTS

Imprinting is an ancient form of instilling certain "Truths" into the core of our being...our Heart/Soul. By doing so, we help heal ourselves on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels, thus bringing us to deeper levels of Trust, Forgiveness, and Acceptance, which in turn enable us to live richer, fuller, more peaceful lives.

I am excited that those of you in the New York area will have an opportunity to learn more about Imprinting first hand when I speak on the topic at two April events. Following are the details:

Saturday, April 16, 2011

10:00am to 6:00pm (I will be speaking at 12:30pm)

Awaken to Your Best Self Wellness Fair & Marketplace

Doubletree Tarrytown Hotel

455 South BroadwayTarrytown, NY 10591

Fee: $10.00 through April 14 for online registration or $15.00 at the door

Register online at: http://www.awakentoyourbestself.com/Buy_Tickets.html

At the Fair, my talk will focus on how Imprinting instills certain "Truths" into the core of our being...our Heart/Soul. By doing so, Imprinting helps heal the body, mind and soul, bringing us to deeper levels of Trust, Forgiveness, and Acceptance, which enable us to live a richer, fuller, more peaceful life.

Additionally, the Awaken Wellness Fair and Marketplace is an amazing opportunity to learn about the cutting edge of wellness of body, mind and spirit.   Learn about wellness that starts with an attitude of gratitude, living green, being lean, and maintaining a peaceful core in a world that often challenges our serenity. And it's a great place to shop for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Communions, graduations, etc. You'll find those unique gifts that show thoughtfulness and awareness.

I hope you're able to come out for the fair and, if you do, be sure to stop by and say hello!
