Hello Friends:

For me, December means hope.  And it is my desire that the month
invokes the same sentiment for you.  Many of us have just finished celebrating Thanksgiving, so we have been recently reminded of all that we have to be grateful for.  This very nicely sets up December, a month of assorted religious holidays that bring (and remind me of) hope.

For a quick update on the holidays coming up this month, I refer you to this Ah-Man Blog Article published in December 2008.

During the next few weeks, the Ah-Man Blog will address the challenges, as well as the joy and hope of the holiday season, including the ways in which our expectations sometimes take us off track, how living outside our means brings us out of harmony, ways to avoid allowing others to derail the holidays, and understanding that you already have everything you need.

During the month of January, I will be traveling in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Cambodia and Bali.  I wish I could take all of you along, but I can't.  So I will be doing the next best thing:  I'll post weekly photos and short clips of all the beautiful places Liz and I will be visiting.  I hope you'll enjoy "joining" us via virtual participation.

Until next time.

Namaste,

Michael

Elizabeth Brown HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS

This year, Hanukkah launches the holiday season, beginning at sundown on the December 12.  This is a holiday that is also known as the "Festival of Lights."  Over 200 years before Christ, after fighting a battle for years, a Jewish tribe took back their temple, which needed to be cleansed and rededicated.  There was only enough consecrated olive oil to fuel the eternal flame in the temple for one day.  Miraculously, the oil burned for eight days, which was the length of time it took to press, prepare and consecrate fresh olive oil.

Currently, the Festival of Lights brings hope to all that we all can overcome tremendous odds.  And isn't that what hope is all about?

December 18 is the Islamic New Year. Also known as Al Hijra, it is the day Mohammed began his migration from Mecca to Medina in the Islamic year 1 (622 AD).  This is not a big holiday with lots of festivities for Muslims.  Rather, they reflect on Mohammed's migration and all they have today.  This also brings about hope.

Christmas comes on the 25th.  This is the celebrated day of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.  It was told by Angels that Jesus was to be The Christ, which is translated from the Greek word Khristos, which means "The Anointed."  In Hebrew, The Messiah translates to "Anointed One."

Jesus of Nazareth did not come to start a new religion.  He came to reform Judaism:

"I AM the light of the World;
Whoever follows Me shall not walk in darkness

But will have the Light of Life."

Now that's what I call HOPE.

Kwanzaa is celebrated on the 26th of December.  Kwanzaa is a unique African-American festival that focuses on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce and self-improvement, which all bring about hope.

In years past, even during times of war, this season of the year has brought peace.  During different wars, temporary truces have been declared in an acknowledgment of hope and peace.

I challenge you . . . myself . . . all of us . . . to feel, see, talk and act as people with hope.  It is easier to do during this month, I assure you.  First, find the Peace and Hope within you, and then walk in that space throughout your day, spreading it wherever you go.

WHERE'S MICHAEL?

On Wednesday, February 3rd from 4:00 to 5:00pm Eastern, Michael will be a guest on the Getting on Top BlogTalk Radio Show, hosted by Paul Morris.

Getting on Top reaches out to as many people as possible to help them release the negative feelings and emotions that may be holding them back from enjoying a more fulfilling life.  On the program, Paul and his guests discuss the ways people can live better lives by overcoming their fears while embracing who they can become.

Drawing from his life experience and his refined set of intuitive powers, Michael will share his wisdom with the audience and those calling into the program.

Be sure to mark your calendars to listen live to Michael's interview.  Call-ins are welcome, and the call-in number is 347-215-9456.
RETREATS AND SPEAKING EVENTS

Due to Michael's travel schedule, no retreats or speaking events are scheduled until after March of 2010.

A new event schedule will be published in the February edition of the Ah-Man Newsletter.

Elizabeth Brown EMPOWER YOURSELF IN 2010

This is traditionally the period when many of us start reflecting on what we have (or have not done) to improve the quality of our lives over the past year.  By the same token, we contemplate the steps we can take to enhance our lives in the coming year.

If you fall into the latter category, I encourage you to visit Transformation Through Empowerment, to learn about Empowerment Methodology, which teaches you to dream boldly and courageously to develop a comprehensive vision for your life that creates increased happiness, success and freedom.

Elizabeth Brown, the founder of Transformation Through Empowerment, is a Certified Empowerment Coach and Certified Public Accountant who offers Life Coaching and Financial Freedom coaching, and teaches Emotional Freedom Technique.

This just might be the best gift you give yourself this (or any other) holiday season.

FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL

At some point between now and December 31, you will probably spend some time in that special winter wonderland known as "overwhelm," where you frantically try to figure out some unique and/or fun gift to give to a loved one who may already have it all.

If you fall into that category . . . and most of us do . . . I invite you to visit the Ah-Man Online Store, where you will find a variety of Ah-Man branded items (long and short-sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts, zip hoodies, baseball jerseys, aprons, mugs) for men and women.

I'm willing to bet that you'll find something for everyone on your list, since practically everyone wears clothes and drinks beverages out of a cup.

Do yourself a favor and avoid the holiday crowds.  Just fire up your computer, pour yourself a glass of eggnog and take a leisurely (virtual) "stroll" through the Ah-Man Online Store.
