Ah-Man Freedom Newsletter |
September 2009 |

Hello Friends:
It's September, which most likely reminds us of starting over in some way or another, e.g., going back to school. For most of you reading this newsletter, you're not necessarily
returning to school, but maybe returning to work or beginning to wind down summer events; usually, fun, family time,
relaxation, some sort of self indulgence (reading a few novels, spending time
on the beach, attending baseball games, barbecuing, enjoying nature, etc).
I would like to use September to bring our focus back to "What life
is supposed to be about."
I know, I know. Who wants to consider such serious
things? Well, someone has to do it, and Ah-Man is willing to step up to the plate!
So this month's newsletter focuses on your relationship with Self and why it's
so important. My Ah-Man Blog articles this month will follow the same theme, exploring topics such as: the business of life, what is spiritual and what is not, money and spirituality
and religion and spirituality.
Be sure to also check out the list of upcoming talks and new retreats below.
I hope you enjoy these last days of summer! And I thank you for taking the time out of
your busy day to read the Ah-Man newsletter. I hope it helps you connect you a bit more to your spirituality.
Namaste, Michael

Getting Back to the Business of Life
Here's an unavoidable fact of life.
Nothing you have remains. Whether
we like it or not, everything changes. Just
when you feel that you've "got it," something happens and you don't have it any
more. Life is temporary; everything we
have is temporary.
The kids eventually grow up and leave (hopefully), or at least they
grow up. In today's world, we must sometimes
change jobs. We out grow out of our
homes because we need more or less space, and so many other things change
throughout our journey.
But there is one constant . . . one thing that never changes and never
will. And that's who we really are. In recent newsletters and blogs I have discussed
"Who are we?"
When the body dies, most times all the physical parts are still there. The piece that is gone is who we really are,
the Spirit, the Soul, the Self, the Divine.
All the religions speak of this
spark, energy, piece of God that is within us.
It is said that the longest journey we will ever experience is the one
from our head to our self/soul.
When we have been able to make that journey, we begin to realize what
is really important. Usually by that
time, our bodies have changed and we're not the same person as we were in our
twenties, thirties, etc. Life has given
and taken from us. It's a delicate place,
because it can also be over whelming knowing that everything is only temporary.
For those of us who are currently in that delicate space, where it's a balancing
act of not being overwhelmed, I can assure you that you're not alone. You are in a wonderful place. It's kind of like when you first rode a bicycle
without the training wheels. You're
excited but also a little afraid. Follow
your instinct of wanting to know more. Then
read, and listen to those who have been there and are now on the other side,
having discovered what is important and that it's not the big home, the job,
the car, etc. When you realize that you
are more than the sum of all those things,
you'll know that you finally get it.

NEW RETREATS AND SPEAKING EVENTS
When it comes to learning how to cope and enrich your life, sharing the thoughts and experiences of others via blog can be effective, but nothing beats the healing impact of human interaction. And that's what I provide at my workshops. You will better understand your own life experiences and the resulting disconnection from your heart. My goal - and passion - is to help you open your heart and find the freedom and joy we are all meant to experience. Please share this information with those who have a need.
FINDING PEACE THROUGH FORGIVENESS HALF-DAY RETREAT
This retreat is designed for anyone who has experienced hurt in their life. The pain we feel from being hurt continues to manifest itself in our lives. Resentment and pain continue to affect our thoughts and the decisions we make, either knowingly or, in most cases, unknowingly. During the retreat, I will share my own miraculous experiences with forgiveness and show how forgiveness cannot happen without healing on the Emotional, Spiritual and/or Mystical levels. I will also expose some of the myths about forgiveness. During the session, I will also guide attendees through meditations of forgiveness.
