Chairman's Corner
| | Sheila Massman, Farmers Insurance, Chairman of the Board |
I'm guessing that many of you are like myself, we receive information about events that we want to attend and then we don't RSVP or simply forget to put it on our calendar. Worse yet, we double book, I hate when that happens! Because the Chamber has so many exciting events happening in the next few weeks and months, I'm just sending you a reminder. For the second year, the Chamber hosted the State of the City of Lone Tree on May 18. Thanks to all of you that made attending that event a priority, as last year, it proved to be very valuable and informational. That same evening we were excited to be part of a multi-chamber event at the Inverness Hotel, another great event allowing all of us to touch members from other Douglas County chambers.
June continues to be a busy month for us, the Business After Hours on June 1st will be hosted by one of our newer members, Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in Lone Tree. Then comes our Golf Outing and Business Showcase on June 16th. This is a great way to network with clients over golf or showcase your business.
We all enjoy the Business After Hours but the Business Showcase really gives you a chance to highlight your business. Last year we had such a great response we sold out of tables within a couple of weeks. This year we have more space, we're at the Lone Tree Golf Club. So whether you're golfing or featuring your business, we'll have plenty of room for everyone.
Come join the fun!
Sheila

| | Mayor Jim Gunning, City of Lone Tree | ent was supported by Miramont at RidgeGate, Lone Tree's premier luxury apartment community in RidgeGate. The more than 80 attendees ranged from lone tree Citizens to members of the various district boards and the CEO's of some of Lone Tree's largest businesses. Michelle Holbrook, President of the Chamber welcomed guests with an overview of the State of the Chamber since her time as their first and only full time staff person. She shared membership has grown by 35% and all events have seen a10-15% increase in participation since Fall of 2009. The Chamber continues to expand its involvement both politically as a member of the DCBA, and in the community by taking on the coordination of the much loved annual 5k run on the 4th of July for the first time this year. The Mayor spent about 30 minutes sharing details about current projects coming to or planned in Lone Tree, highlighting the continued growth and expansion of he medical corridor led by Sky Ridge Medical Center, and the continued planned communities throughout RidgeGate. He highlighted the variety of continued efforts to make Lone Tree an increasingly green community from installing all LED lights throughout the city to building a green Arts Center slated to open to the public in late August with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 11, and a Gala planned for August 27. Programing is already underway and a calendar of events is viewable online at LoneTreeArtsCenter.org. The luncheon continues to be an event not to be missed, mark your calendars for the 2012 event, sure to be just as exciting and slated for May 2012.
